If you are wanting to speedrun Any% you may want to do it on a older patch of the game. Here is a quick guide on how to do that.
-
On windows press window key + R to bring up run (or just search "run" in the start menu)
-
Now in the run bar type steam://open/console. This should bring up steam but with the dev console for steam.
- Now on the bottom there is a bar for typing in commands. This is where you will put the depot command you want to use to download older patch of the game you want.
- Now go to https://steamdb.info/ on a web browser. Search for the game you want.
5a) Now you are going to need three IDs (App ID, Depot ID, and Manifests ID in that order.)
5b) The App ID will be on the top of the game's page. Copy it to a note pad, word doc or something.
5c) The Depot list is on the side. Click Depots to view all depots. Now the depot you want is the one with a memory size. copy it down.
5d) Now click on the ID after you copied it down. On the side there will be the Manifests., Click it to view all the Manifests.
5e) Here you pick was patch you want. For this guide i will pick the 1.1.0 patch.
-
Now how the command is structured is like this download_depot <AppID> <DepotID> <ManifestID>
-
All the Industria depots i have tested. (Patch 1.1.0) download_depot 1172650 1172651 8994149651616365971 (Patch 1.0.7) download_depot 1172650 1172651 4840138684742062574 (Demo) download_depot 1327360 1327361 5973416620589216032
Note the demo one need a license. I would assume if you have downloaded it before you have a license but idk. I don't have one.
- Now after steam says it is done downloading the depot it will be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content Just look for the appID of your game you are downloading. It is ok if you move the game to a different folder.
The New Update
- Changes some rooms and items placements.
- They have manly changed areas in old streets and canal.
- Made enemies harder. (Even harder on Hardcore)
- They placed more enemies throughout the game.
- Weapons got rebalanced.
- All Tricks and glitches we use for the speedrun are still usable and viable.
- Three New achievements are now in the game.
- I feel like nora's movement speed may have been altered but that could also just be me not playing the game for awhile.
Other stuff i found interesting:
- In Institute they removed Mr.Bean. I think it is the can of beans you can eat when doing the steam machine puzzle. -They moved first pistol pickup into post-elevator room. So right after using the elevator/lift there is a table that has the pistol on it.
- In the beginning of canal they got rid of the three doggo robots i like to shoot while waiting for the train to stop....Big Sad
Since this is a massive change maybe we need to add different versions to run for all the categories. I know that All Achievements and 100% got massive changes to them. Glitchless is a big change also. Any% is still the same for the most part from what i can see.
So for this I am going to cover the necessary paintings need for this side errand to be completed. This Speedrun can be done on any day but I think Tuesday is the best for it because of where you start. You start near where the Animal Catcher Errand is on Monday. Thon the top part of the map. So Main Street, Riverside and Longhouses (idk what the real name for these house is called).
Here is main overall map of all the paintings needed for the run:
Main Street Paintings
First we start on Main Street. Here is the map just for main street:
From the start run up the street to this building
The Painting is upstairs in the office
Now run behind the arcade building towards the walk bridge. After that turn to the house on the left and going side. The Painting is up about the window in the living room.
Now go straight across to the other house near the walk bridge and the painting is behind the tv.
Now run down the street there is a house and the end that looks like the next picture. Go around the right side and kick the plywood door in and the painting is in the room with all the bums.
Now run down the street going left from that house. The last house has a wall around it and a fence in front. The painting is in the bedroom.
Long House Paintings
Now run to JB's. It would be faster if you used a Vitamin X. It will make you run faster. When there run up the street and you should past two sets of long house with fences around them. Go to the second set of house and the one on the left has the painting in the bedroom.
Now run back past JB's while also pick up the Gold Larry in front of JB's front door. This gives you $200 dollars for a Vitamin X later. Now run right to where there is a street of longhouse.
The first house on the right with a bunch of trash. The painting is in the bedroom.
Now run down the street to the house that is horizontal. The painting it is right next to the front door.
Now run down the street again to the last house on the left. There is a treehouse next to it. The painting is in the bedroom.
Riverside Paintings
Now run all the way over to riverside (Just behind where you started on Tuesday) Along the way you could stop by where the first painting is there is a venting machine for special items. You can buy a Vitamin X here. Use it when you think is right to. I use it right after the last paints so i have more speed to get to the end.
Right after the zap zone going into Riverside the first house you see has white fence going inside and upstairs. The painting is next to a couch.
Now right across from that house is the next painting. It is on the stairs.
Now go back outside and turn right and go all the way up to two house that have a long fence that is connected together. In both house there is a painting. First one is in the furthest house. The painting is in the dining room.
Now in the other one it is right next to the stairs.
Now to end the run just run down to the Art building. It is past the pet store and the dinner. You should see it from there.
Talk to this lady and give her the paintings and you are done. GG!
Video of my run if you need video references:
Because of Fox's out of bounds skip for old streets. I think we need to make two new categories.
-
Any% Inbounds (Normal and Hard) So this means no out of bounds skips. Out of bounds skip would be mainly for Any%
-
Glitchless (Normal and Hard) - So no use of any Glitches or Exploits. So no Prop Hop (AKA Couch Skip), No Brent Skips, No Prop Gilding, No Out of Bounds Glitches or Exploits and no Roof Skip (where you jump on the roofs of the building going towards the first train). Basically play the game as intended.

Forest and chapel doesn't seem to have anything since they are end game areas.
All the Library levels papers are non-collectable so I don't you need to pick them up for speedrun. Also there is only 2 different records and one of them is duplicated 3 times which makes me question if we need them for 100%.
I have been routing All Achievements and think I would be cool to have it as a category for speedrunning. Rules:
- Same rules as any% but you must complete all achievements
- Complete the game is 8 achievement (9 Including Hardcore Difficulty)
- Picking up every weapon is 5 achievements (6 if you include the radio)
- Picking up the Hive ball in the apartment trash can.
- Interact with the pc in the office (Show it saying "Venting Prevents Explosion")
- Picking up the Key in Library II and using it on the door going towards town hall and press E on the radio
- Picking up Brent's photo of his wife (Edit: you can brent skip. You have to photo no matter what happens)
- Placing Brent's photo of his wife on her grave stone (The second one you pass) Before going to the building with Walter
- (Optional) Play on Hardcore. (This would make it Hard All Achievements or True All Achievements)
So yeah I would like to see All Achievements for Normal and Hardcore. What do you guys think?
Also Here is a run for the concept:
