Handgun and shotgun only I'm personally on the fence about, because I don't think it'll add much routing difference overall, but I could be wrong. No item box though? I'm down to see how this one works. As WeirdRituals said, we just need to see some runs of it. I'll definitely be giving it a shot

Hello everyone, I've been talking about this with the mods and I want to see what you all think about this. We were considering this to add more accessibility to the game for runners that want to run the game, but can't keep stairskating as much as this game demands.
I'm going to make a vote later on, just wanted to get the ball rolling on discussion for now.
I'm gonna keep looking into this autosplitter and figure out what's going on. We never had this problem until now, so thanks for being patient with us. I uploaded another autosplitter for you to try out as well. It's older, but it should work with the splits, since those splits haven't been updated since forever ago. So, revert them to as they were, then try it out. Let us know how it turns out
We were looking at your previous VOD's to try to understand what the issue is, and it turns out some of the splits that you have don't appear in the asl script that we have. Frame of reference is the lighter. There was a split issue there that put you 1 behind. I have another asl file I could give to you and we could see if that works. The other solution would be to remove the ones that don't match up with your current splits.
I think making categories based off of different languages is a bit egregious, especially when this is available to most, if not all of us, which keeps the playing field level for everyone.
This isn't a different version. This is merely changing a different setting.
And as a speedrunner, any extra time save I can get just by changing something so simple sounds golden to me. PogChamp This game doesn't need separation like that. It would only create more clutter on an already stacked leaderboard.
These are just my thoughts on it. Kinda sucks that the runners who worked hard for their times and want to keep grinding have to re-do it with this, but that's the name of the game here. We find optimizations, and we use them to get the best time possible.
I would say certain controllers would lend you an advantage in stair skating than others. PS4 and Xbone both are relatively decent. A 360 controller should get the job done, just in a less optimal manner.

Also, something to keep in mind since Wesker brought it up, but some rooms can either be done with tank or alt and all depends on preference. Some rooms have a quintessential method, but others are more flexible depending on what you feel is best for you. There's a lot in this game where you do exactly this, at this exact time, with this exact execution. But there's a lot of adaptability! You'll learn that with more hours in the game and find what is best for you.

For sure. Route first. Figure out backups, like heals or extra ammunition in case you need it. You'll prevent a lot of dead runs that way. Once you have it down, there's a couple tricks and optimizations that seeing in a run doesn't make perfect sense, and might require more explanation.

Huh. This is actually pretty cool. I quite hate that line, so that might be handy EleGiggle . I personally think this serves not as a matter of speed, but of consistency. If this is slower (which is possible), it's slower by the slightest of margins. But it doesn't matter in the long haul when you don't even lose milliseconds from it. You'd probably lose much lower than that.
As for using this in runs, I have no issue with you using this in your runs. I agree with Nattie though that if others are able to also do this, then it's fair game to use.

I think doorskip not only brings optimization under faster settings, but also provides an interesting dynamic of pace the vanilla category lacks. And coming from a personal standpoint, I'd love to start using door skip much more often once I reach my goals in other categories.
Yeah, don't chop it off. Not the best idea. This game will make you chop half your controller off anyways OpieOP
