Thanks for the info. I tested it numerous times and this does seem to be the case. However, there's a range to where it will work, which was throwing me off.
As long as the bots are not in the back, behind the red line, it works. I'll edit the OP.
Thanks for taking the time to read the OP. Oh wait...
Since there is no other way to "prove" the kick command was not used, this sounds fine to me. I don't think L4D2 saves anything in terms of logs, so I guess showing the console after the bug is performed will have to do? This will pause the game, though.
Edit: mystery's solved, OP's edited with how it works. Note: this should work on all versions.
If you incapacitate the bots on the Dark Carnival finale they will get kicked when the sound stage is activated. This will work as long as they are not in the back of the room.
This will persist after campaign changes, given you call a vote to change it. The map command will simply start a new 'game', nullifying it.
This is mainly helpful for the Dead Center and Hard Rain first chapters, where you only have pistols to incap the bots. It also shaves off several seconds every chapter due to not having to incap (and damage) them.
The direct map change is relatively useless in solo runs, as not having mouse control makes it difficult to shoot the bots. Only Swamp Fever benefits from it fully, so I recommend doing it last.
Here's an example, at 10:00 (can't be assed to edit the video) I didn't realise they were gone until I switched to The Parish.
As a sidenote, Dead Center finale could possibly be pretty annoying without the bots crowd controlling as you collect cans.
That's stupid. There is no rule against using the viewmodel fov command. And rightfully so.
I mostly agree with Canterlott. The amount of categories this'll give will just cause empty leaderboards, or perhaps a run at most in each category. Pretty biased here, because I really don't care for LMOE and bhop script so I already think it's clogged up. In addition, only expert seems worthwhile. I assure you it'll be very, very enjoyable due to the randomness of this game!
Also, nice to see actual competitive players go fast. Didn't know Dawkins & Co. did that run. I always thought it'd be far more interesting to watch than just a bunch of scrubs.
Obviously, but 99% of all highlights/recordings start before the actual run does.
Again, you don't need an on-screen timer for any speedrun. Not having one will not make it even a tiny bit illegitimate. Post-timing is probably even preferred for the 'official run time', since live timing is basically guaranteed to be at least slightly inaccurate.
I can't send it to you since you don't have your Twitch linked.
Tiki500, PMed you it.
It's the complete game; not a patch.
If you're the last survivor, you cannot get ledged. This will only happen if there is at least another survivor alive.
I would get really tired really quickly from having to wait like 20 seconds for every loading screen as Vsync does, though.
Although at first I was very optimistic for all this, I have since become pretty much indifferent. I mean, I'll vote for option A, because it will make the speedrun a little speedier, after all.
It'll probably be really annoying having to toggle the fps for every wait. My FPS rarely reaches 100 anyway. Sure, I'll get accustomed to it over time, but that doesn't mean it won't be a hassle. Now, just because I won't be using this to its full benefit doesn't mean I don't want it allowed, of course.
Oh, my post was mainly directed at the current game time vs FPS issue, not specifically the helicopter part.
Enabling Vsync will gravely increase the amount of time it takes to load. For some reason having your FPS limited on loading screens is something the game doesn't like. The lower the FPS is limited to, the longer it takes.
I certainly wouldn't mind in any way for an FPS limiter to be allowed after knowing this. Just sayin'.
A - Workaround is changing the Vsync options to half refresh rate or w/e in your GPU control panel.
Personally, I don't have issues with getting in the heli, but if you can't get your frames low enough a limiter should be allowed.
As for bikes, use Vsync if you can't turn properly. Side note, obviously bikes will spin out if you try to turn at high speeds; that's just how the game works. This shouldn't be blamed on FPS issues.

I've got all 6 and 5 star weapons, all DLC weapons, and quite a few I've upgraded and stuff (mostly cyclone set ups, some for speedrunning).
All characters except Sima Zhao are lvl 100, and the ones I've speedran with + more are fully upgraded.
Also has an elephant with the right skills (can't recall names atm lol) + shadow.
