Anything beyond booting the game through the disc channel or booting a disc through an allowed loader like neogamma /swiss, is considered emulation. Launching an iso on console, playing disc through ninendont, or playing on emulator is classified as emulator. Do note that we do have thresholds per category that allow emulator classified runs up to a certain time threshold.
I would recommend looking at ebay or amazon for these things. And depending on the category a link cable for tuner may not be needed.
The discord is the place for that. To my knowledge there is nothing currently in the works with live updates, but all the TASers and knowledgable people are there.
It is basically just a slower paced trick. More unpause lag (cant repause as quickly), and cannot unpause as quickly as in HD. In addition, in this version things are visually delayed by a frame. Other than that, the mechanics of how the trick works is identical to HD. Same inputs.
The route would probably be something along the line of (starting from post mss) FF1, sail, farm rupees, go to islands and rebuy bait when needed and maybe getting any additional items that make farming faster
And honestly it would maybe be faster in some cases to superswim and save warp, but idk.
I personally would not run that unless it’s a race or something lol, but you are always free to run it yourself, there is always the possibility of adding it to extensions.
It's all good, no worries
If you go to any category's leaderboard and click on "View Rules" it will video proof and emulator thresholds. For AD, it would be 2:50:00.
This would fall under emulators. However, that is perfectly fine and inexpensive way to try out the speedrun and get a feel for it. In fact, emulator is allowed for all categories up to a certain time threshold that is category specific, so you are also able to submit to leaderboards as well. For example, any% has a cap at 1:05:00, so any time on emulator above that can be submitted and accepted onto the leaderboards. Let me know if you have any other questions, and feel free to join the discord.
People usually use priiloader or region free the wii in order to run the JP disc from the wii menu. Neogamma is also allowed to run the disc. Something like Nintendont is not allowed as it speeds up loads, even if you boot off of disc, so that would be counted as emulator.
