Just collect as many starbits as you can. There's no route because you need basically all of them that you pass. Even then, you don't get enough. In Slingpod, we usually grind starbits to 999. Then, in Melty Molten 3, we grind however many more we need.

Personally, I think Galaxy 2 is an integral part of the 3D Mario speedruns. SM64DS is a remake of SM64, not a sequel. Galaxy 2 is an entirely new game with tons of new content. I can see the appeal of not doing Galaxy 2 because it makes the whole thing so much shorter. But to me, if I'm gonna commit to something like an 1862, then I might as well just go all the way. Like I said though, I can totally see the appeal of not doing Galaxy 2, but I don't think it should be added to the leaderboard.

As of right now, there's just not enough interest in more categories, and it would just make the leaderboards unnecessarily messy. If lots of people do runs of a certain misc. category and there is proof that lots of people are serious about running it, then we will consider adding it. This isn't meant to discourage anybody from running what they want-- feel free to run whatever! And if enough people like it, and there's enough demand to add it to the leaderboards, then we will :)

First, download the save file and extract it. Make sure you take out the .bin file. Then, go to the root of your SD card. Once there, you'll see a folder called "private". If you don't see that folder, than make a new one and name it private. Inside of that folder, make sure there's a folder called "wii". Once again, if there is none, then make one. Then, inside of THAT, there will be a folder called "title", and if there is none-- you guessed it-- make one. Inside of that, you want to make a folder named one of 3 things: If you're using the NTSC-U version (North American version), make the folder named "RMGE" If you're using the NTSC-J version (Japanese), make the folder named "RMGJ" If you're using the PAL version (European version), make the folder named "RMGP"

Finally, move the save file (.bin) into that folder, and make sure the save file is named "data".

Then, put the SD card in your Wii, go to the Wii menu, press the "Wii" button in the bottom left corner, press Save Data, go to the SD Card tab, and you'll see the SMG save. Just press that and click copy, and it'll be copied to your Wii save data and when you boot up the game, you'll have the 120 file. Note that if you already have SMG save data on your Wii, you have to delete it before copying the save from your SD card.

Hiya! The leaderboards now include ils for each level. Same rules apply as before, you must have video proof if your time is 1st, and you must play as the character you choose the whole way through. For the galaxies with only 1 star, the full level RTA and the single star RTA are the same, so please only submit to the full level RTA :)

There are not codes for the European version D:

Colorado, USAClairDSS7 years ago

Is there an option to switch the language to English? Cuz that might fix it. The codes may be for English/Japanese only. The reason that happened is because it's trying to change Mario's health to 6, but that crashes on the title screen, and there's a line of code on the English version that deactivates the code on the title screen, but I guess that memory address is in a different place when the language isn't English. So that's my bad D:

tl;dr the language has to be English and that should fix it.

Hey guys :) With the help of Yoshifan, I wrote some codes for SMG to make practice more efficient. These codes work for NTSC-U and NTSC-J.

Download (U): http://www.mediafire.com/file/2o49c58cz91x8ia/RMGE01.gct Download (J): http://www.mediafire.com/file/alf9ijelzsnwsri/RMGJ01.gct

Codes (U): https://pastebin.com/dS7k3KvJ Codes (J): https://pastebin.com/tTjRmRVi

Features: Save/Load Mario/Luigi's Position (Z+D-Up/Z+D-Down) Have infinite lives (always on) Teleport between domes (hold a specific button while entering a dome) Restore your health to 6 (Z+B+D-Right) Restore your health to 3 (Z+B+D-Left) Toggle infinite starbits (Z+1)

Buttons for Domes: 1 = Terrace 2 = Fountain D-Up = Kitchen D-Right = Bedroom D-Down = Engine Room D-Left = Garden

Note: Don't hold 1, 2, or the D-Buttons while entering any of the hungry luma levels outside of the domes (or the trial galaxies)

To use, you need a Homebrewed Wii / WiiU and Gecko OS (or Nintendont). Place the gct file in a folder named "codes" on the root of your sd card, and make sure cheats are enabled in Gecko/Nintendont.

(If you have suggestions for new features, or you found a bug or something, feel free to message me :) )
