@SioN my google account has maxed out storage, because I uploaded several movies to Google drive. If you max out the storage you can't receive any mails, including verification emails to log in SRC, until you delete stuff to make space.

I can't access my original account unless I delete my movies and shows, I'm not doing that. There is no other method to verify my identity I think

I guess picturing this account as an Alt acc is wrong, this is the only account I can access so there is no "Alternate" account, because I have no choice. If I could access both accounts and I had a choice, then I would have an account I could alternate to, but I don't have a choice.

I enjoy SRC and have played it for half a decade now (this is my Alt, my main's acc has maxed out storage and can't receive a verification email to log in)

But one thing I've missed is that there are no accomplishments set by the community, no "do this and receive this achievement". That would increase player activity by tenfold and it's very cool if the community is creating the achievements themselves.

I am aware that there exist other websites like Retroachievements or Exophase, but I find them pretty lacking in both players and non-noob-ish achievements. Steam or XBox perform this well, but no Nintendo game or Flash game has such a thing for example. In any case, they are not speedrun related. No "achieve Top 20 in 5 ILs", no "Be the WR Holder of the 3 Series Games", I find some communities creating these titles themselves and denying the title to a top runner for fun.

Other websites have these, like Cyberscore.me.uk, although they are default goals set up by the website itself to increase engagement. Leaving a community some level of customization could become magical.

Even default goals made by the website would be useful and fun enough.

It strucks me as odd that Speedrun.com isn't capitalizing on something so simple, while its competitors are. I can see how it's not necessary, but I can also see how it would add to the experience.

Now people have to: stream on twitch, download the video, wait for it with your wifi connection, then upload the video to youtube, and wait lots of time as well.

I might be dellusional, since I don't use twitch. But creating an ecosystem feels worth a try and earns money.

NinjaCock I used to mod a community with a simmilar issue with the svaestates.

One of the solutions we considered was forcing all runners to record or stream their session of attempts when they used emulator. You can add &t=70 at the end of a youtube link to jump to 70 seconds into the video.

The community disliked the idea because there already existed players who were already used to not streaming or recording long sessions. But here the comm is still small, all runners could agree to build the ILs with this rule active from the very beggining. Solving the problem

La última vez que jugué el sueño de Shin Chan no usaba ningún software para saber cómo iba de bien o mal. Usaba un reloj lol. Lo haré ahora para que sea menos verificarlo para el mod.

Good point about the savestates. I wish mods from other communities I enjoy would have considered that. It led to trouble later on. I 100% understand.

Want to watch them being superoptimized. The Any% inevitably focuses on overall improvement.

Would play a few, but an hour and a half of speedrun is too hardcore for me.
