someone inboxed and suggested my audio drivers may be at fault- I'll be checking those tonight and using a different recording program per your suggestions
thanks to everyone who contacted me privately!
I honestly need the text you're referencing, not tribal wisdom (though that is appreciated, I'm trying to avoid "It is known.") My hearing is severely impaired, and am already going to have to have someone proof all the audio from now on to avoid this frustration. ''like to know where those rules not listed in the category and game rules would be? I'm told the audio gets "garbled", and I have 5% functionality of an ear so tbh it all sounds garbled.
It's not about the individual run (its hardly my best foot forward) but I am curious why this is also a point of disqualification. I suspect people used audio to cover cheating?
Maybe I am just not understanding the severity of the audio issue, I'm told it's minor but I'm, you know... deaf.
I'm also not experienced with youtube (the service I used to upload the link) Does it sometimes affect gameplay audio? and if so is there a preferred platform that doesnt do that?
thanks
I had a run rejected for reasons related to the audio going a little wonky at two points (I'm poor, and have a terrible computer) but I really cant find anything in the rules about audio artifacts being a point of disqualification?
If it is, can someone please point that out? I looked and I just couldn't find it and don't want another run rejected because of something I was entirely unaware was a rule (since it isn't listed in the game or category submission rules)
"Other than the “any%” category all runs must be capped at either 60fps or 120fps. The fps counter must be visible (and readable) on screen throughout the entire run. If we can not read your fps counter it will be rejected. If you see your fps counter reach 121 or 122 that is ok. Your run will not be rejected so long as it goes NO higher"
That's all the written submission guide says, but you should also check out the sticky on using Rivatuner to cap your framerate, and get it consistent for your own benefit.
The video quality needs to be good enough that menu / inventory text can be read when they reveiw the sumbission, so that really depends on where you post it, as well.
Anyone want to party up for multiplayer WR attempts? I main Magic-U, but I also play Fighter and Thief.
I did some research to try to find a better one, and discovered a lawsuit vs microsoft about their controllers experiencing "Stick drift"
So maybe stay clear of the elite series 2 (at $180, I will) Until they admit that they knew it was faulty XD
