Just looking at forums i missed and my highest was over 600 with pou because the game became popular randomly and j for some reason offered to help the new mod since the old mod was inactive but that wasn't the only time I had an extreme amount. Like when Otterstone grinder Gravity Box
What a legend, I remember the day this wr was broken
Chris Pratt speedruns Mario Bros after getting cast as Mario?!
Yeah the longer we stick with speedrun.com, the more it becomes all about the money, its like a college student getting into college because his father donates thousands of dollars, the game doesn't deserve to be on the front page but jts there anyway
First thing, I have 0 idea who this guy is and I'm not defending the fact that he cheated. Second thing, I'm defending the fact that we need to double check and triple check his runs to make sure they aren't cheated, which would be incentive not to cheat as if he is caught he knows its all over for him. I believe in a second chance but not a third. If he's caught cheating again, I would never defend him at all and I would understand my mistake. If this was anyone else I would do the same thing, give a second chance with increased inspection and if caught again, he's done for. I'll be checking every run he's done in my games to make sure he didn't cheat as I advise everyone should, but they shouldn't be deleted for the idea better safe then sorry
Please realize that I'm not defending Jaypins behavior at all, in fact, its pretty atrocious. What I am defending is the idea that I believe one shouldn't give a run a fair chance based on their past. Or the idea to delete Jaypins runs without checking the validity of them at all just because of the incident. I feel like the right way to do it is to give extreme speculation at the runs he does from now on like how SMB Mods took months inspecting every bit of Lekukies wr vid to make sure its real. I feel like that's the right way to deal with a run that comes from an unbanned cheater. I feel like it makes sense to keep him away from sonic games, but for other games, I truly believe rejecting the run just because its from him, and not giving it a full inspection to make sure its not cheated is the way to go. Once again I understand he's done a lot of things wrong and I don't defend that part of him, I just don't believe it makes sense to take a run and throw it to the trash just because its jaypin.
I find this as a horrible mentality, that no one is redeemable and can't mature and become a legit speedrunner
I feel like you guys are really being ignorant to how a mod is supposed to work. Just because he cheated in one run years ago doesn't mean runs now will be cheated. Let's look at lekukie, a great runner that did cheat in I think it was mario kart ds and that was a serious ban, but the guy was able to run super mario bros and was proved to not cheat in smb. This is a way less serious offense that did result in a ban but now people are just banning the guy from their games because if an offense years ago. If the guy doesn't cheat in your game, the run should stand, it doesn't matter that he cheated years ago. Cheaters shouldn't be banned from your games unless you have proof he cheated again.
Great 2 games that I suggest to everyone is score! Hero and Score! Hero 2. This shows the score hero season 1 wr which is phenomenal and the discord for the score! Games https://www.speedrun.com/score_hero https://discord.gg/6tX78jY497
My first run was a run on ting mobile, coincidentally I am now a verifier for Ting.
