New to attempting speedrunning myself and thought this might be a fun game to do. Was curious if UplinkOS is allowed or if there could be plans to add a Category for it? its an extremely well done refresh on a Classic game we all love.
hello, it wasn't ever considered. I agree it is a nice mod, personally though I think speedruns should only stick to the official, unmodified releases. UplinkOS changes way too much; I suppose you could request a separate leaderboard for it once you finish a run.
The top speedrun for this even uses a reskinned client, despite that not being in the rules.
Which run are you referring to? Didn't see this post earlier, sorry. Are you referring to the world map looking different on my run? That's a toggle in the Graphics options, "defaultworldmap".
I didn't mention it in the rules at all as I believe it makes no difference on the gameplay.
