Can I use MAME emulator for run Sonic The Fighters? Beacause actually I don't a have a capture card -.-
I can relate. I just got the game for the new Xbox Series X my dad won in a lottery. I did an 8 minute, 15 second, and 41 millisecond run with Espio (continues included), but I don't have a video of it because capture cards are so god darn rare to find. So I'm curious to find out if I can post my run without the video.
I have someone looking to see if MAME can be used for Fighters. We'll let you know what happens as soon as possible.
Some good and bad news regarding emulating this game! You can't emulate through MAME as it seems to be behind on quite a lot of the M2 games. However, there is an M2 emulator which can be found here https://segaretro.org/Model_2_Emulator We'll be likely adding it to the 'Resources' tab so it's easier for others in the future who want to try out the game. I believe flyingfox has addressed the fact that video evidence is required, but the M2 emulator isn't a particularly CPU intensive program so recording shouldn't be too much of an issue.
flyingfox will add a post to the forum for this game regarding what is added/changed or you can feel free to join the Sonic Speedrun Community Discord and ask more in the #other-classics channel.
Good luck CatBoo
Of course you can always film your TV as you do the run, but for verifying sake, it may be easier to verify a recorded emulator run
