Would 100% and all Pink, Purple, and Black coins not be the same? Both of them require you to complete all the levels and get all the coins? Is there something I'm missing?

Look on the category rules. 100% says to get all characters (except Toad) as well as ppb coins.

Indeed, to get 100% as Dawgup said you would need to get also the characters or else it would fall into the All Pink,Purple,Black coins category.

as far as i know your only requires you to reset your account for 100% so you can get on a completed file and play through all the levels and get just the black coins.

Exactly. All PPB is just 100% minus getting the other houses, both on new files, while any% and all black are from completed files.

Exactly. So it means that for : All Pink, or Purple, or Black Coins categories you could use a used file and get what you're required while on 100% you need a new file to get all of those together and the characters in a single run. I'm editing the rules to try to make them clear.

Just edited the rules. I changed mostly the 100% categ rules. Now you can't link your Nintendo account on 100% so everyone would have every counter at 0 and those without an account wouldn't be at a disadv.

is there like a reset account data button or would you have to redownload the app and restore purchases? Also, with getting all the characters, that means you have to do toad rally, which is partly dependent on RNG and partly dependent on other players that are not part of the run
