It appears as if there is a moderator who is rejecting all the runs which are submitted with IGT and not RTA. As these types of runs would sit at the bottom of the list under the current rules, it is my opinion that they should be accepted.
RTA is the main factor in the leaderboards here. Menu-ing is part of the speedrun, and thus it should be timed. As for letting them sit at the bottom of the list, it would look weird. Faster runs being at the bottom because the RTA time is missing.
I think you meant to say that RTA is the main factor in the leaderboards here. We had an large argument about this a few months ago as I'm sure you remember.
I don't think that "it would look weird" is a good reason to reject people's runs. Runs without RTA aren't going to screw up the rankings since they will sit at the bottom. We're essentially deliberately excluding people that run the game because of an arbitrary definition of "speedrun."
Oh yeah, I meant RTA. Sorry bout that.
I don't think that 'excluding' 3 people is such a big deal. When these people submit their runs, they just look at their old records and submit their time. This isn't what the speedrun.com leaderboards are about. Go look at cyberscore. That's only in game time, 50hz or 60hz, no difference.
Putting better IGT scores on the bottom of the list is dumb. There is no way of telling if it was 50hz or 60hz and menu-ing is not taken into account. They're not 'exluded', they didn't use RTA timing. They can do a run with RTA timing, just like everyone else.
I'm with Goomba on this. If RTA is the main factor on speedrunning then it should go on that and knowing the corresponding IGT is just there for interest purposes. I don't see the point of sticking pure IGT runs at the bottom.
The point is that there are presumably people who don't care about RTA, and right now we're telling these people to fuck off. There's a guy who submitted a 29:49.548, which is good enough for 7th, who got rejected due to lack of RTA. I think it's disingenuous to exclude these times from the leaderboards just because they didn't record an RTA.
RTA is a requirement because menu-ing is part of the run. If you can't handle that, then sorry.
This isn't about whether menuing is part of the run or not. It's about whether or not it's okay if certain people don't care about it. You guys obviously think menuing is an essential part of the game, so fine, sort by RTA, but don't exclude people completely for not having it.
Hello Double Dashers! Some of you may have noticed some changes on the leaderboards recently :) Here's a quick rundown:
Leaderboards have been divided into two different categories:
- Glitchless: MB, WS, MuC, BC, and any other future skips will be banned, as will Z-Tech. A-Tech, R-Tech, and L-
