I thought the community might want to share our IGT IL records. I got some new ones practicing different strats today and wanted to share. I'm also curious what everyone else's best times are, so consider this thread a place to flex. I play on Japanese but I got the English translation to translate/cross-reference. 1R for all.

Oh shoot, I didn't even know this was a thing! I never explored the options menu in fear of accidentally deleting my save, so this is nice to see. Btw, do you know how you got Saeki down so fast? My time is a whole minute above yours, it'd be convenient if you had it recorded somewhere!

I’m not sure it if got saved anywhere. Maybe in a VOD but I can’t remember now, and it’s likely gone at this point. IIRC though I think I got it practicing each fight offline. I want to say I accidentally 140 glitched him like I did Okita (they take the same amount of damage), but I can’t remember 100%. Sorry if that’s a disappointing answer. Great times btw! How did you beat Date so fast? My times have come down some since this post but I’m still a minute slower than that. Very impressive
I have no idea on the Date front. This is the physical cartridge I've been using to play the game since it came out, so it could have been any number of things. Most likely I accidentally 140 glitched him somehow, but I have no earthly idea what combo I used. Is there any documentation on how much damage each character takes? You seem confident that Okita and Saeki take the same amount of damage, what do you mean by that?
Edit: Just realized I got some of my numbers mixed up on my first post. It was Shigeta that I beat in 48 seconds, not Date. Just edited it to correct the errors.
I’m pulling that from the info in error1’s tas (link here http://tasvideos.org/3031S.html). They both take 120% damage, so I would assume the strategy I used on Okita in my latest run could be mirrored to Saeki (if only I realized this back when I got the record lol so close)
Just a heads up, there's a pending Any% run I submitted yesterday with an 8:04 record, but I didn't realize the Okita strat would work on Saeki. So if you want to preemptively beat that, a 1-down KO on Saeki would definitely beat mine!
Although I just ran the numbers from that sheet on a 1-down KO I just found on Volg, and the combo I used is nowhere near 140 damage, mine was over 180, so something might be off.
Edit: Then again, my math might just be off, because my calcs for the okita strat only come to 103.2. For example, (9.6 x 2(body blows)) + (36 x 2(liver blows)) + (2.4 x 5(hooks)) = 103.2. Even if one of them was a counter, it'd only come to 104.4. Am I just misunderstanding the spreadsheet?

As far as accuracy, it should be mostly right. I cross referenced against the TAS, and also used his lua script to test myself. I looked at my Okita fight and I have one more liver blow than what you listed, which makes the damage 140.4 with a counter hook.
You're right, I just don't know how to count lol. That's a really interesting mechanic, I'm surprised anyone figured out how it worked! When it happened to me naturally, I always just assumed it was a random chance type thing.
For sure. The TASer must have looked at decompiled code or something to figure all of this out... speedrunning is crazy. What was your volg strategy? Is it easy/consistent? I'm been trying some methods on Miyata but he's being a real nuisance lol
I've been messing with some combos, and I've found consistent 1-down KOs on everyone except Date, Miyata, and Hayami! Once I get a good enough run, I'll post it to YouTube and you can check it out for yourself. I think it's going to cut the time down by a full 1-2 minutes, if things go well!
