earlier hat pogo

This is a pretty precise trick,  so I wouldn't recommend spending too much time on it, very little harm in going for it though, so if you're in the right position, go for it if you want.

It's kind of similiar to slide skip, but more precision is required, how I'd recommend going about it is drawing 180 degrees of a circle, and smashing down on the completion of the 180, make sure mouse goes directly down, there can't be too much of an angle to the down input.

Found another way similiar to anvil to do the hat pogo, but in the normal spot, it's a little harder than the anvil since the overhang can screw you over:

Easy Hat Jump

This is a neat little trick I discovered today that launches you high enough not to worry about sliding at all :)

Quick anvil pogo

Very minimal setup needed, basically the same principle as the really early hat pogo, just easier.
Throw yourself against the leftside of the anvil and pull in, then pogo.
