In this thread I would like to explain, why the timing rules at the moment are rather unfair.
The rules say: "Time starts: When you press "Start Story" from a new save or when you select "Chapter 1" from the Chapter Selection."
In my opinion these rules fail to account, that if you start a run from the chapter selection, you will have a short 1-3 second loading screen, before the intro starts playing. Due to this cutscene being absent when starting a run from "Start Story", those who don't use the chapter selection screen are at a small, but noticeable advantage. To fix this, the rules should say that the timing starts, after the loading screen, if the run is started from the chapter selction. Example: "Time starts: When you press "Start Story" from a new save or after the loading screen, when you select "Chapter 1" from the Chapter Selection."
Sorry for the late reply. You are absolutely right that it makes a difference of ~2sec. I have changed the Timing Rules to "When you press "Start Story" from a new save or when the loading icon disappears, when you select "Chapter 1" from the Chapter Selection."
I also subtracted 2sec from each submitted run, so they fit to the current timing rules.
