Hello forum people
I am interested in the adition of a damageless subcategory to the Dungreed NG+ category. I have been practicing and eventually would love to submit a damageless run when I am successful. there are also some game modes that have been added to Dungreed in the time since the original release. I would love it if NG+ received a hardmode subcategory and if the boss rush mode received a category. I will admit I am not the most talented person to ever play Dungreed and I am new to speedrunning, but I would love to start my speedrunning journey with one of my favorite games, dungreed
I completly agree to Fenrir009s sentiment, there should be more categories, and there needs to be some changes to currently existing ones, for example, the tutorial in this game got an overhaul, different rooms, layouts and more enemies, even bats where thrown into it, which leads to a overall higher time, so people will be unable to get a high placement if they compete with the shorter older version, same with bosses% the 2 floor layout is thrown together with the 3 floor layout, which also can lead to quite the differnce in times. I started streaming and making youtube videos some time ago and like Fenrir009 want to start speedrunning some of my favorite games, so it'd be great if the boards could recieve some love.
I would encourage people who are interested in this game to step up and make the changes they want to see happen. Petition to become a moderator and, once empowered, go through the development log and notes for the game to break out all of the different versions of the game, tracking changes between them; that should take a few hundred hours as each version will have to be manually downloaded as a backup from Steam, loaded, and tested. Once that is done, one or more white paper can be put together which explain the findings and creates options that the community can vote on to determine which categories are adopted, as well as how they are separated and structured. That would likely require setting up and managing a Discord, which would also have to be staffed and moderated, as well as a system created to manage the polling and results. I look forward to seeing the people that want this putting in the effort to bring it about.
