I have been looking to get back into running this game but for every 10 attempts I do for the Any% category 9 of them are killed by the scarab in the drawer upstairs. Is there a way to make sure it doesn't trigger or is it purely RNG?

Are there any other scarab locations that kill runs like this?

You can avoid it if you press space instead of up to interact. Holding up triggers Laura to open drawer 1.
