i wanted to make some comments about the leaderboard organization as it stands. byakko_cat's run was moved to "Unrestricted" due to the presence of a so-called "bug" that makes combat faster. if this is referring to the autocomplete and the move timers fading faster, this is just how the autocomplete works; it's not a bug. because the autocomplete is making up for the time you would spend typing the words out manually, the game compensates for this by taking a certain amount of time away from your move timers as well as the enemy's attack timer whenever you use the autocomplete
i am also of the opinion that unless major glitches are found that warrant a glitchless category, that there really isn't any need to distinguish between runs like this. for an actively updated game it'd probably make more sense for version numbers to be added as an annotation or something, with subcategories for whenever the run is considerably affected by the update (such as the no-damage bug being patched out)
a game that has a method of organization like this is Rolled Out. here's a link to the Past Versions leaderboard: https://www.speedrun.com/rolledout?h=Past_Versions-Cozy-Warps-0.5.5_-_0.5.6&x=xk9pnxvd-j845vzyn.gq7w2ky1-wl31dev8.4lxrn9gl-wlewky4l.mlnod30q
thank you for considering
So on the topic of Glitchless Vs. Glitched runs:
Ever sense I've created the leaderboards, I've been in consistant communication (And more than likely they read all of the posts) with the dev team and it's safe to say that there has been some updates regarding to the "God Mode" glitch. When the patch notes went live I was asking questions pretaining to the "God Mode Fix"
"Paul's (One of the two devs) response is that you should be able to still do it, all you need to do is hit escape at the right time. He hasn't tested in the new version 1.034 though."
When it comes to the individual versions, I feel like it's not needed at this perticular moment in time to split the boards quite yet. The boards are so small right now that it's not needed but I will be updating the rules set to make it mandiatory that the version edition will be in the run notes. This insures that everyone is on the same playing field when it comes to which version to play to optimize the runs. Perhaps if the boards get bigger, with more runners, then maybe a version split would be in order.
On the issue with byakko_cat's run, it was reverted to the correct catagory.
Thank you for expressing your conserns.
