Pretty Simple, Just Add a 100% Category where you have to best normal and hard mode

JyGein and santibo like this

that would be fun

I wouldn't be opposed to it. You're suggesting something where someone has to play through both difficulties back to back as one run?

I think the only hurdle would be: Would we use combined In-Game Time or Real-Time for timing purposes?

Romania

I like the idea of 100% but here is how I would implement it and why. I suggest just finishing the first level, waiting for the score screen, then if you hit the right button twice it will bring you back to the menu and there you can select the second difficulty. And I would use combined IGT of both levels for the timer. The reason why I would be against using RTA because then you need to start taking into account when would RTA start, when would it end, couldn't you just reset the cart as soon as you do last damage to first level to start second level faster? In order to keep it simple and easy I would prefer that you would just finish a level normal, go thought end screen, credit screen, then back at main menu to start second level. When you get to score screen there is a couple of seconds where you can't skip it and that should give players more then enough time to look up in the video what was their time for that level. What do you guys think?

Romania

So, since no one had any update/comments I would officially like to request the implementation of 100% with the following rules.

Beat both easy and hard mode. Add the IGT on the score screen for both modes to get IGT for run. Time spent on score screen should be less then 10 second in between levels. You can start with whatever difficulty you want.

I'm not sure whether 100% would be the right term for it. What does Any% mean for the other two modes, then? I just took it as another way of saying "glitches allowed", but if 100% means both modes then it's a little ambiguous what % is being measured. or, perhaps, the Any% is the title that should be changed. Either way, if you guys are seriously interested in running hard AND easy in the same run... be my guest. I probably won't submit my own time, since that's just a bit more challenge than I'd like to give myself, but I'm in support of it being an official category, and I'll get the category established on the site by the end of tonight for submissions to start coming in.

i think any% should maybe be changed to normal mode and hard mode, and then have the 100% called "full run" or something? Idk

Im confused on the terms of this 100% run, are we using real time or combined game time? I'd like to be the first on that leaderboard!

Combined IGT, as stated in the category's rules. Add the IGT from both the normal and hard runs. Both runs must be done back-to-back in the same recording, but order does not matter. You can do hard then normal, or normal then hard.

Romania

Looking forward to seeing that run @qwertyuiop512 ! Show us how it's done!

well, theres one tiny problem... i've never beaten hard mode, but i'm going to keep trying.

also, I use screencastify, and that limits recordings to 5 minutes. would you trust me to have 2 different recordings, or does it need to be 1?

So on hard mode the SB glitch is easiest done on the hats phase i found, no longer the cards b/c of the lasers.

unfortunately videos must be uninterrupted. I recommend getting OBS Studio or something similar.

yeah, that not much of a surprise

:/

Romania

Just so you know, recording to local harddrive is more intensive on the computer then just streaming to twich and using a vod to make a highlight.

Illinois, USA

Twitch highlights are volatile and, although it may not be as processor-intensive to stream, it requires a decent-bandwidth connection to get clear, good quality video for the entire duration.

Not to completely dismiss the option, just keep in mind if you live in somewhere with extremely spotty connection, you're probably better off with recording locally.

there are still no 100% runs! any one of you could be the first on the leaderboard!

I've been too busy to run, especially since I might be a bit rusty at the start of my session
