dude, that would be probably over 24h and getting perfect Wii Fitness Age would be a big pain. I'm not saying that is a bad idea or something, because I truly like it, but speedruning it would be a one, big pain
true, but 4000 in golf is probably impossible so maybe just champion or 2K Cool idea tho
the only people i imagine doing this are Nicro and maybe Shockwave. I would remove the “Challenge All Miis in All Sports” because boxing is probably impossible to do that on
It has been talked about before, not this exact version of this. No human has ever done this let alone in a speedrun setting. There have been two versions of 100% that have been discussed by runners of the game:
Option 1: -All Platinum Medals -All Pro -Beat All Champions
Option 2: -Complete All Objectives stored by the Wii Message Board (i.e. perfect game, pro status, hole in one, etc.)
These are very difficult runs however so there isn't really much willingness to run these by any of the runners. Anyone who wants to can if they want and these categories will most likely be added to the boards, whether that be the main boards or the category extensions board
Option 1: -All Platinum Medals -All Pro -Beat All Champions -Perfect wii fit age That's what was agreed, also 4k is not possible/realistic for all sports, realistically it would be 2k
100% is an inherently arbitrary category in this game, as it is in many other similar games, because there really is no "end goal" - there is no state of total completion. because of this, it's not really possible to create a category that you could reasonably consider "100%"... but you can get close.
in Wii Play, we approached this issue by creating a category called Highest Achievements, which basically requires the player to get the maximum score in each minigame that the game specifically recognizes. for example, the requirement for Fishing is to get a score of 2600 points or above, because that minimum score is specifically recognized by the game with a platinum medal. while it is possible to get a score higher than 2600 points, which is technically a higher achievement, the game does not uniquely recognize that in any way. therefore, the requirement is 2600.
the beautiful thing about this principle is that it eliminates any issues with determining maximum scores, which we don't actually know for some minigames. for example, a TAS could probably get upwards of 30 points in one game of Laser Hockey, but no single person is capable of finding the human limit. we could just decide to set our own requirement, like 20 points, but that would make the category completely meaningless. in the game of Wii Play Laser Hockey, "20 points" is indistinguishable from any other random number.
so going back to the original subject, Wii Sports, we can see some parallels. we don't actually know the maximum skill level values for some (any?) of the five games. we could just set our own requirement, like 2000 points, but that would be completely arbitrary. instead, let's look for all the highest achievements that the game uniquely recognizes. spoiler alert, there are two (to my knowledge):
- all platinum medals
- all pro class
could this be an interesting run? sure! but it's pretty minimal compared to what you originally suggested. the question of whether the community wants a leaderboard for it will have to be its own separate discussion.
edit: just saw plyd's post, I had no idea about those wii message board achievements so I guess it wouldn't be such a minimal run after all... very interesting. I might personally suggest a combination of option 1 and option 2. that wasn't really the main point of writing this anyway though, just wanted to share some perspective on how I think completionist categories in these types of games should be approached
