@Livesplit: I have no idea why you are claiming this. We haven't extensively talked about this in the mod team, so ILs might or might not happen.

Generally we are open to new categories, as long as a cohesive ruleset has been created, there is an example run and community interest has been expressed.

Open the "DishonoredEngine.ini" file which is located at "C:\Users\YourName\Documents\My Games\Dishonored\DishonoredGame\Config" and search for "MaxSmoothedFrameRate". Set the value to something higher than 130, but nothing too high as elevators will not function properly otherwise. I recommend 240. Then just save the file, enable write protection and (re)start the game.

Sorry for being so late but I kinda missed this thread up until now. I'm running DOOM (2016) which needs a pretty beefy PC. For one of the most important tricks in the game, the so-called railboost, which is utilized in a number of places, you usually want to have 200 FPS. Getting that amount luckily is very possible thanks to the brillant usage of the Vulkan API.

One of the #4 tier PCs would be the best choice as a 1070 is powerful enough plus the CPU equals the one in my PC with which I have no trouble. The game is quite CPU intensive in fights so an i3 or even i5 would heavily reduce FPS in those situations. Besides that an SSD is really nice to have as loading times can be quite long on a regular HDD.

1.2 doesn't change anything about aggroing Samuel though. The only difference it makes for the Any% run is a certain blink inbounds that's not possible on 1.4.

From the video it looks like you are shooting way too late. You bonk the door before shooting which takes away all your forward momentum.

Currently there is no up-to-date tutorial for Any% (Yes). The best bet right now would be to watch DrTChops' basic guides (https://www.speedrun.com/Dishonored/guide/2ctug) and then look at one of the top 3 runs on the leaderboard.

At first I would just try to get the basic route down and not worry too much about your mana usage. Once you get sub 40 it's a good idea to start looking into the subtleties of where to blink in which way.

Because I am currently in the process of writing my thesis I couldn't really derust on BioShock Infinite (Any%) so far. That won't pose a problem though since it is a pretty derust-friendly game. Also, after switching to Dishonored in October last year I have done several marathon runs of BSI which all went well with the Shots Fired one being sub 1:50 even. Until ESA I definitely plan to improve my WR of 1:46 by roughly a minute and practice heavily to ensure everything goes smoothly.

The same goes for Burial at Sea 1. It's a rather short run for which I want to improve my record by about 10 seconds before ESA.

As for the Dishonored DLC Knife of Dunwall, I got the record about a month ago and still am in good shape. I plan on spending some more time on it since I think there's still potential for some seconds to be shaved off.

One topic that I'd like to quickly touch is the Hill Runner's Hat RNG in BioShock Infinite. When doing regular runs it most definitely is a big run killer since the chance for the item to spawn is pretty low. The marathon safe way of handling this is to have a backup save from the next checkpoint that has already obtained the gear. During a possible ESA run I would farm HRH for 2-3 minutes at a max (so the viewers don't get bored), explain the situation beforehand and in case of bad luck just continue to play until before the next checkpoint. Then I'd load up the backup save and continue as planned. This is basically what FearfulFerret did for SGDQ 2015 and it worked out really well.

Hey Maggi,

first you want to install the BSI No Loads plugin for LiveSplit. It's done by going into the splits menu, choosing "BioShock Infinite" as the game and then clicking on Activate right below the attempt counter.

After that you can see the no loads timer by right clicking on LiveSplit and choosing Compare Against/Game Time. If you want to display both RTA and No Loads at the same time you have to install a component called Alternative Timing Method. Once you have added it to your layout you can set it up in the associated options.

Splits themselves will always be saved seperately for both timing methods so you don't need to worry about persistence. :)
