Hi all, I was hoping I could get some input on a run which was removed from the leaderboard (one which was already verified). I'd taken a break from running for a couple months as I've been busy and today I saw my PB had been taken down. I was a little disheartened to see my run removed earlier this month with the reason being "no loadscreen assisted jump at the beginning". Here's the removed run: https://www.speedrun.com/Outlast/run/z03g74oz
As you can see in the clip, the level was clearly visible before I jumped, so I'd been standing there with no input for at least a couple seconds. I'm not sure how it's possible I could have buffered a jump into the loading screen from that point, especially when you can see me standing still after the game loads for some time.
If anyone could point out where I went wrong that'd be much appreciated, though if it was just an honest mistake on the mod's part that's completely fine. I'm more curious as to why the jump was considered loadscreen assisted than anything else.
I'm not but it's in a sticky post in the forum, is that not the correct link?
Thank you, I figured it probably only applied to the gate but better to check!
Hello, I started running this game a few days ago as my first proper speedrun. Having a lot of fun with it so far and I beat my PB today (which I'll submit later on) but after watching some of the other runs on here I feel like I need a rule clarifying a bit for any%:
"Level must be fully loaded and visible before moving"
Where does this apply? Only to the first load when you start the run or to any loading screen? After the bush skip I've waited for the lab to completely load (black starts fading) before moving, though I've seen a few people buffer jumps into the loading screen which throws them forward before the level is fully loaded. If anyone could clarify what this rule extends to, so what I can and can't do, it'd be much appreciated- thanks!
