So, I don't have a video of this, but I found a glitch (feature?) where if you hold a box or a rock or whatever and you jump into a wall you can sometimes get a higher jump than normal.

Don't know how useful or applicable this is, but it is a thing that you can do.

Can I be mod? I'm a very active runner of this game and think I could make some good changes in the community!

With The Outlast Trials right around the corner, we're unsure if we'll try to improve this time. 1:25:5x is the limit for this game, unless something crazy is discovered.

There have been some very minor improvements made to this not shown (2 seconds in The Fields and some millisecond timesaves here and there), I believe its about a 1:26:47.

Are there any updated Any% tutorials, or is this something I could probably learn watching the WR? The only one on SRC is outdated apparently. Was interested in trying to learn this game and arkham city.

It would be cool to see what the fastest time everyone could get on each level.

I (for some reason) actually do own this game on Gamecube, or used to at least. Now, if I did runs of this game I don't want play the GCN version, just cuz I'd be losing time to shit loads + I hate controller. Was wondering how one would go about obtaining the PC version to this game, or if its abandonware or something of that sort. Thanks!~

#Strats

So far I think the best strat for completing levels quickly is to not stop and ideally jump over all the enemies, but running through them is also a good option. If you're about to die you can take an intentional death right next to a checkpoint which will give you full health back and spawn you right back where you are. Waiting for enemies to move out of your way takes too much time.

#Movement Tricks / Speedtech (Grounded)

Keyboard controls suck in this game and sometimes did not respond to my inputs, so I've done all this testing / runs on my Xbox One controller. I haven't played with keyboard much but playing with controller is definitely more fluid and allowed me to chain "slide flips" easier

The fastest form of movement is "slide flips", which is holding down the control stick while sliding and then jumping immediately after. I believe doing this multiple times in a row speeds up Belle, however I'll need to test more.

#Movement Tricks / Speedtech (Swimming)

Water sucks, your movement is very limited in water so your best bet is to avoid it at all costs.

Spamming the jump button to swim is NOT faster than tapping it in a rhythm. Hard to explain but basically don't spam it, instead try to tap a bit slower than spamming it.

You are able to do acrobat tricks while running at the bottom of water, but they feel more inconsistent. Not sure if that is true, don't think its worth

I don't know if this is a glitch but I was occasionally able to be knocked back by the bell thing when I threw it against walls. I could not make this consistent though. This would save a lot of time over standard swimming though.

#Glitches

You're able to softlock yourself in every cutscene that allows you to pause if you pause the first frame text appears on the screen. If you do this you gotta alt + F4, game gets hardlocked. Probably should let the developer(s) know about that one

Kill the Tripod is a category where you traverse through the hospital in the most unusual way only to eventually meet with the tripod, who you respectfully have to defeat. That is the goal of Kill the Tripod. Unfortunately, this path we take makes you unable to do it in the Any% speedrun (SAD) which is why it has its own category. Does that mean Isaac is trapped in these few rooms for the rest of time? We may never know. Some people may consider this a blessing, others, a curse

This category is something that’ll be passed down to generations, grandkids and all Homo sapiens. Everyone will know what Kill the Tripod is and bless it with their heart they still have that isn’t clouded in darkness and evil.

Kill the Tripod is something that’ll live and stay forever in the Dead Space 2 Speedrunning Community, as it’s considered one of the best categories besides No OoB and Zealot Any%.

No-one could’ve guessed that Radish would’ve gotten a sub 5 minute Kill the Tripod time, a godlike run with perfect "Vent% Lines" and an insane skip. No one ever wants to do Kill the Tripod as it’s seen as a hard category to do, and you aren’t wrong. Kill the Tripod is filled with precision and movement in mind. This is the best category to start out as a casual as it has a mix between of skill and precision, no doubt about it.

Hey all. Times are becoming very close to each other and potentially getting faster loads than someone else could ruin the competition.

Since times are becoming very close to one another, I believe it is necessary to take the load between the first and second area of the game into consideration, someone who has a faster and better computer may (and likely will) get a faster load than someone who has a worse computer.

I will do some testing to figure out how consistent the loads are between systems, if they are very different I believe we should make this leaderboards standard use time without loads.
