There wasnt, so I just made one :D
Assuming its actually possible to get every human, I'll add All Humans to the boards if someone does a run of it. If someone wants to put in all the effort to figure out what the maximum score is, that would be a cool challenge run, but not something for the speedrun leaderboards at the moment
Hi, glitchless would be a cool category so I will add it to the boards if you do a run.
Currently I wont be splitting the boards by platform and port since there are currently only 4 runs on our board. Maybe one day if the game gets more popular.
For 100% we would need to define what that is. Get all the collectables? Save all the humans? (which I don't think is actually possible on non-port versions of the game)
A port can be downloaded from here https://github.com/jorio/OttoMatic . I have added it to the submission form
There was a physical windows release. When I looked for it a few years ago I couldn't find anyway to download it, so I bought it off ebay instead.
I own a physical copy. I'm not sure if anywhere hosts an official release of the game online for windows.
Just tried it and it works. Thanks for letting us know :)
Sorry this took a while, but we've looked through the game and some wikis and come up with this list for the criteria for 100%
Complete all main quests Complete all side quests/optional missions Complete the zoo Obtain all 70 fish Obtain all 35 bugs
Does this seem like a sensible definition of 100%? You can read about all these things here https://strategywiki.org/wiki/Petz:_Dogz_2_and_Catz_2/Walkthrough
No, we wont be adjusting PAL times to NTSC speeds. Mario kart is the rare exception to the rule.
Doing a region free mod on your wii is a relatively easy thing to do nowadays, so that maybe be something you want to look into.
Hi,
Gonna be honest and say we really dont know much about this game or what things there are to collect. We'll look into it and get back to you
Yes. WiiU has fastest load times and NTSC platforms are 1/6th faster (about 20 minutes) than PAL platforms
Game has been fairly active recently, so thought i would make a discord server :)
I tried messaging you but Clyde was mean to me too.
In 100% we only get what the game requires us to get for our save file to display 100% at the end. It doesn't require getting 100/100 crystals in each level or collecting every heart pot, so that is what we do in Max%
Yes sorry forget to mention that the guy in the video doesnt know anything. We've talked with the dev himself, they are unchanged
Recently a member of the community released a version of Croc that had been modified to run on modern day hardware. Only the rendering and the sound have been modified, the physics and the character movement have remained untouched.
The current PC version is hard to get to work correctly on modern hardware and OBS struggles to record it, making it harder to run this game. However this new version works correctly and OBS can record it like any modern game.
If this was a big game i would suggest we make it a separate game or category, but due to how small the PC leader boards are, and it helps reduce the boundary to entry, i propose we allow runs for it on the PC leader boards. Perhaps with a note in the description of the run using this version or as a variable on the board if distinguishing versions is important.
yep as soon as you press the enter key. So when timing manually you just press the enter key and the split key at the same time
We currently dont know if there is a time difference between catz and dogz. However we are recently had a bunch of runs submitted on different consoles so we can now test which console has the fastest load times.
There is a croc discord :D
