Submissions will open on the 16th, this is to ensure that we as the mod team can make a definitive and concise ruleset, as well as figure out the logistics of how we plan to move forward when it comes to the timing method the game will use as well as the categories that will be made.
Submissions will not be checked over and verified until the 30th of June. This is to ensure that we can make a definitive ruleset and to ensure the best way to time the game, thanks for understand :)
So recently it has come to my attention that the load screens are not as consistent as we thought they were on PC which means we have changed the main timing method to time without loads. To get the time without loads if playing on PC you must use the load remover which is built into livesplit and made by me and you also must show the time without loads at the end of the run, the real time is no longer required.
There has also been a few other changes, Any% has been renamed to Any% Credits Warp and All Main Missions has been renamed to Any%
I wanna get your guys thoughts on making SSD and HDD sub categories since SSD saves ALOT of time over HDD, feel free to discuss it here.
Most people have been starting the timer wrong, I'm making this post sticky in hopes people will notice and time it after the first load screen and not when selecting continue.
I want to get as many peoples opinions on what the categories should be aswell as rules regarding timing, glitches and so on.
In my opinion i think there should only be 2 categories, Any% and Glitchless with the sub categories being New Game+ and New Game, the difficulty categories in my opinion make to much of a mess and are unnessecary when you can just have a difficulty variable to filter by, and i think the run should be timed with the load remover for PC, because its the most accurate and fair way to time the run between all runners.
As for what should be allowed in glitchless i feel like the aiming to gain speed and maintain stamina should not be classed as a glitch, its such a simple mechanic thats its hard to define when you can and cant aim, thats just silly, as for falling down ladders instead of climbing them i dont think that should be considered a glitch either, because if they devs wanted you to climb the ladder they would have added a barrier around the ladder so you couldnt drop down.
Whats your guys opinions? Whether you agree with what i have said or you have your own ideas post them below, i want to get as much feedback as possible! :)
So after looking back at one of dans old runs i noticed the video no longer worked, so i checked the rest of his runs and none of the videos work, so i have had to reject all of his runs. I'm making this post so you know why his runs are no longer on the leaderboard.
So after thinking for a little while i have decided to remove the all 8 die categories because its basically the same as any% now and therefore irrelevent, i remember when i added it i didnt exactly feel like it was necessary but people wanted it back then, but for now i have deleted them due to it being an irrelevent category.
Would you mind making a coop category, or you can add the option to add 2 players to a run for just normal any%, thanks :)
