Was planning to speedrun this game when my unscratched copy arrives in the mail. I noticed for the HD World Tournament - Cell Games category 90% of the leaderboard are videos of people completing the "Novice Tournament"

Is there something i'm missing here? Thx

I think i lack the mental capacity to sit through animations.... anyway Forest only gets you a structure deck, it does not unlock the actual cards. A fire/nature spam would ideally be faster but you need to constant reset for a head start in that deck

Items & Weapons are easy given the game shows you duplicates if you obtain one The hard part is proving that a character is new given that stat raises & bodyguard ranks are permanent.

You'd almost be limiting that sub-category to emulators since you'd have to show a blank roster followed by a cheat input to display the character (unless you start the recording from loading a final stage then beating it). The unlocked characters would give you different musou routes too (Pirate Attack & Tong Gate specifically) since they aren't accessible to the main 9. I think Pirate Attack at High Seas route is faster than yellow turban rebellion & mountain bandit campaigns

Just saw the new category, i'm intrigued. So what defines a new game any%? Is it starting it with a blank memory with no character unlocks and items? Or is it still 'NewGame' if the character is freshly unlocked?

Thanks for the quick reply, makes sense to me figure I check nonetheless. Shame the in-game timer on the pause screen isn't particularly useful enough to use as IGT. Oh well

Hi All, This game can be 10-20hours long in a single sitting, are there any rules around pausing the timer and continuing the next day?
