Salutations.
I have lived through narcissistic behaviour of @ViperUK years ago. After enduring enough & leaving the community, I hoped I won't have to be bothered by crooked actions of mentioned gentleman.
But luck has smiled to me again today and I have been summoned by a notification, that my historical runs for the game Colin Mcrae Rally (1998) have been wiped!
One of the runs, which is slower than my current best & only exists as a symbol of progress, that has been removed because of "missing VOD": https://www.speedrun.com/cmr1/runs/0znl3x7y
I have been denied all communications by said person & as he has been passionately calling me a cheat on social media, I don't expect the matter to be solvable without external input.
Today, @YtTanel has submitted an IL run, with matching result to the current leader @RevengeRacer . Because of this, I have decided to re-time both 1:06.32 results using frame-to-frame timing & verification with on-screen LiveSplit on YtTanels video. Pacific Drive White Sands-Time Attack Forward Leaderboard
The LiveSplit timing matches frame-to-frame timing. Frame-to-frame timing on the video without LiveSplit, results in an identical time (with +/- 0.02 margin of error).
This is incredible news, as I believe, it shows us that despite the IGT drifting from real-time, the drift it resembles is consistent across systems. Thus making the IGT a reliable decider in results placement on the leaderboard!
Through consultation with YtTanel, we have decided to add a rule, requesting new submissions to include a passively running LiveSplit timer on screen, to verify that game speed isn't tampered with. But the above described phenomenon makes this ruling obsolete, as the IGT should match the gameplay consistently.
So, the rule requesting inclusion of LiveSplit timer on-screen is being tagged as (Optional). But! In cases where results overlap again, like they did in todays case, results will be adjusted in favor of those with the LiveSplit timer
Does this work in career mode? I don't see anyone doing it.

There is no guide with this stuff... No one is testing it?
Hi Firefox, long time no see :)
I don't have time to speedrun whatsoever, but wanted to come let off some steam playing D3. The Battersea Challenge series doesn't have any runners, so I'm trying to post some good times on the board.
Unfortunately, some of the challenges require insanely precise manuvering and quite often don't get counted for whatever reason (In Area 1, "180 jump" and "At the ramps end" are notable examples). What do you reckon about a rule that "As long as the mission has been attempted with full intention of completing it and was done in visibly acceptable manner, the task counts as completed and the run is valid despite the statistics saying otherwise"?
Here is a quick vid of me repeatedly failing on the last mission in my route (That just so happens to be "At the ramps end"):
For now there is only one issue with timing certain events in Crashday: There is no timer!
Because of that I have thought of a solution that is open to debate and could require some alteration because of in game timer inconsistency noticed by TigerShark.
- Because the game allows us to start the countdown on demand, by pressing any button, close to perfect timing can be achieved by using tools like LiveSplit. 1.1. If you set the start timing button in LiveSplit to something that also activates events in game (start countdown etc.), then the program can do all the timing for you.
- Some events allow us to use built in timer which is going to be a concrete base for all submissions that don't use timeskip (which fast forwards it) 2.1. For other events an external timer should be included on screen that begins counting from the moments you start the countdown. Not from the moment you gain control of the vehicle. That is to assure consistency between submissions. It is better to start timing on keypress rather than manually seeking a frame on which the car moves. 2.2. All events that require an external timer are going to have 4 seconds deducted from final time to better fit with events that are timed with the games clock.
If there are no objections to the above I will retime manually every currently verified submission.
Hi guys. Reviewing a submission for professionals2 made me think. Alt+Tab (TimeSkip) is 100% luck based when it comes to how fast you pass the stage. It's great in full game run and there is no reason to remove it from there. But, Individual Levels are supposes to demonstrate actual skill of the player for others to admire and learn from. Just watching someones desktop is not very enterntaining nor productive.
What do you think about forbidding timeskip for stages like professionals2?
Edit1: Timeskip at Finals6 (SuperCombo) would still be allowed as it doesn't change much and allows for good practice for full game run.
Feel free to join the official "Crashday Steam Edition" server where you can find us on the "speedrun" channel :)
I've spent last 3 hours adjusting cameras for all the vehicles so they fit well with 60 degrees FOV.
Can I ask a moderator to add this archive to Resources -> Patch ?
Description: "60 degree FOV for all vehicles. Unpack to main game folder"

EDIT: Also, here is a save bundle that includes 0% save with disabled autosave (for speedrunning) and 100% save (for ILs)

And that's a run verified by Ewil XDD I think you might need more moderators.
Doing some checkups before a run, I've noticed that different amounts of "required money" are given in the intro depending on the country selected.
European countries - 60 000EUR British countries - 40 000GBP Japan (And USA) - 80 000USD
Cash for Hudson Tech race: Europen countries - 6000 + 1500EUR (8 runs required) British countries - 4000 + 1000GBP (8 runs required) Japan (And USA) - 8000 + 2000USD (8 runs required)
Soooo. I guess that the same amount is given everywhere, but with a slightly different multiplier.
ToRRent noticed that the WR time is using the AE86 mod in his run. Are Mods allowed in Any%?
The times you see when opening the IL leaderboard are the times posted for "main category" or in other words "default category". For some time now, times were mostly submited for " no-powerups" category, which after leaderboard rework was chosen default by our mod Ewil, because "no-restrictions" category was almost empty.
Because some runs have been added for "no-restrictions", I wanted to bring back old rules from the time World was still online and make the "no-restrictions" great again. I mean, main again :D
So, anyone that wants to contribute to the community can vote for which category should be "the important one".

Thank you :)
Please add to resources: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/151352737194311680/274948879760490498/MostWanted_Saves.zip
I'd also like to request splits with pictures to be added to resources (for career)
A decision was made to make classes main categories and No Powerups and Powerups, subcategories. It took a little bit of time to rewrite all ILs, but now the leaderboard looks like it's supposed to.
I'm leaving here a link to a copy of original submissions if anyone needs it: http://codepad.pozer.ga/pad/#/1/view/lMBimRBbN79q4mGzi7mbFw/YXN0ZNz6Md-q44PFCL-lrxagRavuBTDjEIE4DDINTnU

It's hard to distinguish between someone driving NG+ or only clean profile. All of the runs here are done on second+ attempt so none of them are qualifying for "clean". (You can only check it if someone stops at a gas station)
-
The game is very different on Extreme difficulty and has been ran specifically on this level of difficulty for the speed run.
-
Cars that can be obtained from Gas Stations are significantly quicker then those that are given to the player on the beginning of certain stages.
I'd like to propose new Categories for this game which would suit it better: The Run - any difficulty - No Gas Station The Run - any difficulty - Any Car The Run - Extreme difficulty - No Gas Station The Run - Extreme difficulty - Any Car
