Hi I wanted to submit a run for the game Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi on PC (not Nosferatu on SNES). But I realised the game isn't in the game list anymore. Is it because of the bots and I should request to add the game again? Or because an admin deleted it? And then what should I do?
It's the moderator. Me for this game.
Do you need any help?
Imo admins are cool about it, it just need to be speedrunned by somebody whatever the skill of the person is (going as fast as you can is still a requirement), whatever the quality of capture is (a resolution above 144p is preferable for the eyes), whatever the state of the speedrun is (just a practice, a part of a multisegmented run or a complete speedrun). Just show there is activity on your game and it will be accepted.
Training on your game and improving your capture material is something that can come later. ;)
My game request for Hagane: The Final Conflict has been accepted today but I didn't received any notification:
Edit: Nevermind I just received it
Take a game you love. The speedrunning thing will be easier if you really enjoy your game, you'll spend hours without even noticing.
If you didn't find a game you REALLY love, you can take a game you think is interesting for speedrun (need good execution or has a lot of glitches for example). Being really good on a hard game or succesfully doing impressives glitches is something I personally can't get bored of. Just find what make you say "I want to speedrun!".
If you have absolutely no idea of which game you could speedrun then take a not too hard game with a good community just to get the basics of speedrunning. People are really happy to see new heads, go on their stream (if they have one, or just send them a message) discuss with them, share your experiences, your tips, etc... It's a good step in the speedrun's world, and you can always find a game you like to speedrun in the way. ;)
To submit a game go into the "Games" section and click on "Request a game" on the right corner:

Project64 is good. Cheats are forbidden. Livesplit is the most used, but some people prefer Wsplit. Both are great timers fully customisable.
Related question: I submitted a game but never received an email or notification on speedrun.com - do we have any way of tracking a request?
You are a member since yesterday only, so I assume you submitted your game yesterday too. Wait some days, the process takes some time.
As long as the rom used is the same as the one in the original PCB without hacks or cheats it's not a problem I think.
What is the point of the challenge if there is no time/attempts limit? :/
At least it could be a race on a specific game but if everybody take a different game then...
... well, it's just a normal speedrun. ^^
