It's good to see the forum getting activity. :-)

I personally like the approach of using only the skills/utilities given to a character at level 1 (So buffless/skilless..etc.). Keeps it simple and accessible to newer players. I don't have a problem with using buffs and skills, I'm just saying what I prefer. Also, for a buffs/unrestricted category I think the teleportation gun should be allowed, you can get it prior to any run just like having to unlock skills/utilities prior to a run. The executioner's axe while in the game isn't always available, if it was I'd say it should be allowed (but it's not).

Void jumping (VG)/logging out and back in to traverse terrain needs to be clarified in the rules too. It breaks some puzzles, but then again if you're operating under the true any% mindset every tool in the game should be allowed right? (Kinda joking, but yeah disallow VG)

For the speed buff in LA, if you wanted to get rid of the buff from the advanced logistics mastery just make a new account - go to wvw and take the portal to LA. You can make a new account to get rid of gliding and all HoT masteries too.

Sorry if it came off as complaining, was just trying to make a suggestion. With the past games I've run I would just watch runs and learn the tricks using the games database/guides then do runs without asking any questions from other runners of that game. I asked on the discord the other day and no one pointed me in the right direction. I usually try to stay away from threads/forums until after I've done a run, with BotW I feel the need to ask, because I want to try out amiibos casually and unrecorded practice runs. Ahhhh, I see. That's too bad. Which amiibos would I need? I shouldn't have to ask, it should be on the left.

My issue is how it might effect a new runner. If I'm a new runner just trying to get into speed running and I have 3-5 games on my list; I go and look into these runs, I'm probably going to choose a different game. So why would I bother doing some casual runs of a game knowing I'll have to pay for physical dlc later (because that's what it is) to get better, or I could run a game that just requires the base game/separates dlc. Sometimes it's not about, "but this is faster and that's all there should be to it."

Also, there really should be a detailed guide/resources on how to get read/write nfc tags how much memory your tag needs, etc. Do switch/wii u nfc tags work the same using the same memory? Links to reliable seller, video guide would be nice, yes I could google how to but it would be more helpful if that information was <--------------- on the side bar over there. Would be nicer if Nintendo let me buy this stuff digitally through their eshop. :-P

I don't really care for the reasoning of...."Well amiibos are used in x game, or the tingle tuner is allowed in WW so amiibos should also be allowed for BotW." If I ran a game with only a few runners for a game that required purchase of additional hardware that was not packaged with the game, I could show up to a conversation for any new game that also requires purchase of additional hardware and say "this is how it's done, use the rules our established community uses." If I'm on the fence about running a game, ideally I would like all the tools available from the get go (game, console, controller).Having to pay for anything additional, sets off a red flag and kinda comes off as an elitist/ostracizing way of thinking to me. This is just my opinion. If you could access amiibo content in game via glitch or exploit, that would be fine since it would be available to everyone right away. A filter for the LB would be welcome.

If I saw someone at GDQ use an amibo, it wouldn't encourage me to run the game. What if Nintendo released an amiibo that warped you to the credits. I know that's unrealistic/not the case, but for me it definitely wouldn't be fun to watch. Should be a separate category.

All Quests might be good. Complete all possible quest log entries. May have to wait for more details though.
