I know the title isn't the best :P
But as you know, before a run starts, you have to watch a title cutscene before each run, that (as far as we know) doesn't effect the final time at all. After resetting, this cutscene is around ~10 seconds, so I was wondering if you could just make a savestate after that cutscene that is still on the title screen, and just do runs from there?
So instead of having to reset, watch the cutscene, then hit start, all you would have to do instead is just load the savestate (which skips the cutscene), and then start the game.
The Super Mario Bros. All Stars (For The Original SMB) speedruns do something similar to this, where they load a savestate that is in the menu of the game so they don't have to watch the cutscene after each attempt.
I think this would just make doing runs a bit more tolerable, but it's up to us (but most importantly the mods) to decide if this is okay or not.
In my world record, I knew that my stage 1 was a bit slow, but that wasn't a big deal to me
And then, I watched Muten's run and realized "OH CRAP MY STAGE 1 SUCKED"
Heck, I looked at Beard's run, and even with an extra boomerang throw, his split is around .5 seconds faster than mine (adjusted to when I split by the way)
So does anyone have tips on how to improve it? I tried doing stage 1 IL runs at I seemingly can't get that much faster.
I would like to point out that I don't believe this is an emulator issue, and Beard's and Muten's runs are legitimate, so I was wondering how to improve it.
I think it would be cool to have an IL Leaderboard, since if people wanted to grind out levels and try to do a bunch of crazy stuff it would be cool (The levels in the Any% run) But at the same time, it would be best to have an actual interest, don't want it to turn into "I played a good IL in a Any% run, so i'll submit it" type category (since that would most likely be boring, but that's my stupid opinion)

From now on, all runs will require video proof. This is due to integrity issues. Past runs that don't have video proof won't get removed from the leaderboards.
I think having a 1-4 IL category would be pretty fun. It would be treated like the 8-4 IL Category on the original SMB Game
From now on, using the rocket boots on the 3DS is banned do to the extreme speed boost that it gives compared to other consoles. If you had a run that used them before, that is fine. Just don't use them in future runs.

Hello! I have recently become a mod for this game so I would like to tell you about this Game's future
-IL Leaderboards We have finally added IL leaderboards for each individual level! Timing is RTA and all rules can be seen in the "View Rules" Tab (Ofc)
-🦀MISC. CATEGORIES ARE GONE 🦀 We have removed both of the Misc. Categories since they have been up for a long time and no-one cares about them. If you want to see a special category be added, do a run of it and it will most likely be added

I was a bit confused when I saw the time of 1:34.583 (since I don't think that time is actually possible unless drubzyy got a fast accel framerule and somehow choked at the end), and then I saw the run. As it turns out, it seems that the mobile emulator drubzyy was using actually has faster load times than other computer emulators. I took TheRudy's run (on the left) and compared it to drubzyy's run (that is on the right) and started each run at the same time
It is really obvious during the transition from 1-1 to 1-2, where Rudy touches the castle first before drubzyy does and yet somehow drubzyy's level screen shows up first I am not trying to discredit drubzyy's run, but I do think it is really unfair that a run that was technically faster ends up being slower because of unfair loadtimes. We either need to make a time converter between these emulators or ban mobile emulators since their loadtimes are so much faster.
tl:dr, mobile emulators have way faster loadtimes, so we gotta do something about this.
Compared to JeremyMKW's run I will get it eventually I hope lol
