in the resources tab you'll find zweek's Speedrun mod that you can use to make quick saves and quick loads, you can also activate the couch kick fix which is highly recommended
i'm simplifying to buffs but this goes to everything pretty much, like better armor or a better weapon or a better buff and such
On speedruns getting buffs is only faster if the time those buffs save is greater than the time it takes to pick them up, and since our goal is to go fast and not to deal a greater damage than we need the choice between getting the buffs or not is easy to make
you create new audio source but select the "capture of app audio", since my OBS is in brazillian portuguese i can't tell what exactly it's called in english.
Hello Argon, so these forums are pretty much dead, if you want to start a discussion about speedruns of the game id recommend joining the SoulsSpeedruns discord server since that's where the community is hosted.
being in the same board doesn't mean you are competing with PC players, you compete with who you want to, your run won't be more or less meaningfull just because there's a separate board for consoles and adding a board for console won't change the game in any way, it's still there independently for you to run and enjoy, and a community with people who play on console and want to support eachother and come up with faster ways to run the game on console can still be formed independently of how the current board is organized, don't wait for a leaderboard to run something you want to.
people usually run on the easy difficulty but you can run on whichever dificulty you want, just make sure to sumit to the master category if you want to run on that dificulty
there is a hazard course category https://www.speedrun.com/hl1/level/Hazard_Course
Yes but it's less of a big deal than you'd think, you can either find lineups on the character creation screen for the cursor or open your inventory during the first opening door animation in asylum and place it there while you wait, the arrows in the inventory match the ones in the merchant menu
In remastered you also want to have a confirmation bind from the keyboard in your gamepad since remastered doesn't accept inputs from controller and keyboard at the same time, so both a mouse input and a keyboard input
For seal skip what I normally do is get near the ledge then i open the menu so I can quit out just by pressing x and i tap forward with the analog stick (don't hold it just push it to it's maximum value once and let it go back to it's resting position) and then just quitout when your character is low enough in the slope, the timing should be consistent so just keep practicing and you should be good
If you are playing on a controller i would recommend pressing the up button on the dpad before L1 by just a bit since they have different actuation distances, and try to be as consistent as you can with your positioning on the railing ( i would recommend checking other runners vod's for a good idea on where to stand)
