Definitely like Skinny/Pusher's idea of using Assault Droid to mine up the Altar. I think it's best to sit tight in the Altar, mine it up, and don't kill as they'll likely respawn at the Dry Pool where you're headed. Had a sub-2 with a deka buddy all lined up but got rocketted on my way to the Temple.
