Why is it required to use Project64 or OpenEmu when speedrunning?

Hello, I want to know why is it REQUIRED to use Project64 or OpenEmu when speedrunning the game in emulator, I heard Mupen64 is faster than Project64 or OpenEmu, Wouldn't it be better if you can also use Mupen64 when speedrunning SM64? Is there anything that makes Project64 better when speedrunning than Mupen64?

project64 is the most accurate, and openemu is only really allowed for mac users. they chose only few emulators to make sure no other emulators have advantages or are inaccurate and to make it more comparable with other players

another thing is some emulators have a TAS plugin which can be used to cheat runs. emu's like mupen for example
