In order to keep the light on you need to avoid Badeline in the starting room. Only from hitting her does she activate her guiding mode otherwise its assumed for casual play that you would blindfold yourself without Badeline guiding you.
Oh damn, I’m stupid. xD I’ve been grinding Beginner Heartside too much and forgot the regular level didn’t auto-turn black and somehow it confused me. Well, thanks for answering me this fast! :)
