IMPORTANT TO PEOPLE WHO RUN REV 2 It has come to our attention that there is a time manipulation that majority of us thought that was only an issue in Countdown Mode and that is spamming character switching to lag the timer to gain seconds. This technique is banned on Countdown mode because of how big of an exploit it was with the timer; however, this rule was not carried to other modes (Normal/No Escape) due to the fact we believed it did not effect the IGT. Now we have evidence (through a splitter linked to game IGT) that it does a effect IGT throughout all modes and since the tech is banned on one set of boards and would be banned across the boards and deny all runs using this tech with this discovery. However, since there have been some runners using the tech and instead of outright denying runs with no say in the community-we want to have a discussion about it in addition to getting votes of people that have ran it or currently running the game.
Other Board Changes I have been busy/delaying it a bit but the boards will be split PC/Console with PC still having the variable drop for FPS. There have been some rule changes already set in terms of Full Game Runs. The new rules are as followed: "**Tactical Retries are allowed but are limited. You are allowed to do 2 tactical retires per character in an episode. *** Resets on Gina Skip (before or missed) and missing meat hook in the factory are NOT ALLOWED.
-Deaths are not allowed in the run."
NOTE THIS IS FOR FULL GAME RUNS ONLY! ILs will still have no resets or deaths!!!!

Work been busy so havent been able to go back to this much, but we will be voting next week on the time manip for all runners currently. Once that is settle, will slowly start doing changes etc
i did notice the NG full game record had a retry cause barry got hit by the blenders when i was learning the game
Death still wont be allowed cause it rolls back IGT. Retries can only be tactical and 2 per character etc. Basically to bring the AI closer to ya without hoping they are asses
Also I think that was my old record-reset an area in Barry ep 3 and I think Claire ep 3 to bring Ai to me. I cant fully recall but I know the current one shouldnt have a reset at all.

I relooked, I forgot I had it there too since I normally dont continue with a death there.then again, I recall another run has a death in Barry ch 2? We thought it took IGT but now we know it doesnt. That will a run deleted too. Been meaning to redo it anyway so be an opportunity to get on it
I have the code to show the IGT value in real time if anyone is curious and wants to test it. I used it when I was running The Struggle and wanted to test things to see when exactly the timer is running/stopped. I can share the assembly to get the IGT pointer as well as the app if anyone wants to do some testing with it.
The app I made for the timer display is super simple you can see it bottom left. If the timer is running then they time is green and when it's paused it switches to yellow. if you want to try it let me know I'll clean up the code and throw it on GitHub.

IGT operation of continuous switching in the main story is limited to a place, so I think it is one technique. But it's up to you to decide. To the set rules obey.
Ok, voting is over and it has been decided on what the change will be. We maybe looking into another thing but that will be a bit down the road. For now, we will do the board changes starting sometime this week.
NOTE: Full campaign runs maybe getting a new timing method so those boards maybe put off on some of the switching for the time being!
Full campaign is getting a splitter that will work with deaths etc so that board will wait until it is finished. Was a bit busy redoing another board but will be adjusting IL board splits and rule adjustments soon
So are you going to take down your NG run that violated category rules? Its been brought up numerous times, you say the rules are changing anyway, then nothing happens.
Called life or I forget to do it. Shit happens. Boards are getting changed since work has lighten up a long with other RL issues. Started on some of it now and will finish with in as the week goes by. But a splitter is being made for PC to help with the no death so when that is done-it will be implemented etc to where deaths can be done. Console may keep no death rule unless we can come up with a penalty for it.
Runs that spam character swapping will be deleted as I go through things.

Sorry for interrupting the shitposting... But, I'm glad I haven't missed anything these past few months.
I work from home and the development workload/expectations are such that I can still have a life. So, I don't mind working on whatever splitter, research, tools, etc. you might need. I have pointers for most everything already and I have been meaning to upload all that stuff to GitHub but I keep forgetting. I know I started working on a new autosplitter too but I don't remember how far I got or if I finished it.
