Hello!
First, I'm French and I'm bad in English so sorry for the mistakes...
I'm looking for doing a multisegment of red faction 1 (PC) in easy difficulty.
I have worked a lot and I have found some new strats, which save a lot of time. For example, I have foud a frame-perfect strat which can skip all the cinematics of the game, except the very long after I kill Capek because the game crash. But she's too hard for a classical any%.
I think it's possible to go under 50 min and I want to share that with you.
I don't know very well the rules for a multisegment. I'm playing in 55 fps but something else?
And I wan't to do a beautiful speedrun, as the one in impossible difficulty by DuaneJones (great job!!!). But I have difficulties for connecting properly my segments, and the quality is not very high.
I'm using OBS studio for recording, and VSDC free Video Editor for connecting the segment. Someone can help?
Thank you very much for your answers.
I have a lot of information I can give you. I can tell/show you exactly how I did the editing and give you an idea of the rules and all that. I dont have time right now to type it all out, but I will do so when I have more time later today.
I dont know if you use discord, but here's a link to the Red Faction Discord
I didn't know discord but it seems interessant. Thank you for the link.
This is a small part of my work:
What do you think about it? There is 3 segments.
I have deleted the texts ''saved'' and ''loading'' with the help of the factions files software.
I do a small glitch with the pistol: I save/reload during Parker put the silencer, so the silencer disapear but the noise of the silencer stay :-).
That's a good water boost. It goes a little high.
Glad you found the save/load remove thing on faction files, that's something I was going to suggest to you.
Also, I dont know if the strat has changed, But I dont thihnk that you have to get the pistol until much later on easy. Might be wrong, you might need it for some rocket strat. I'm rusty with the game.
As far as editing goes, as long as your software allows you to edit down to the individual frames so you can seamlessly link segments, everything should be good.
