Why the game's audio/sound is so crucial for a run to be approved? For people like me who have misophonia it's sometime the best choice to play muted and It is also an in-game option, so what's the reason?
I think one of the reasons is to minimise splicing. A continuous sound movement makes it very difficult to do it and usually it is very easy to spot when sound is played. It’s also a consistent rule across all Speedruns so it only makes sense to have it as a rule. A piece of advice would be to use a pair of headphones in which you can turn your sound down using a dial in them. I have a pair of Turtle Beach headphones which have a volume adjustor on them which allows you to record your sound on OBS and you can run the game muted
The fact that is a consistent rule across most speedruns doesn't make it valid to me. At least the "splicing" point has 80% sense. Thank you for your reply and advice, I really appreciate it even if I don't use my PC at all to record.
Like dave has explained the audio is key as its helps us tell apart from splicing :)
just don't wear the headphones. I does it all the time. and if u don't have headphones and using speakers u can mute the game through PC audio settings and not the game settings. problem solved.
As Nemesis said, the submission video need to have audio but that doesn't mean you have to listen to it. As long as the video do when submitting it you are fine.
Yes. I could have done it in so many ways, but the reality is: I didn't read the rules at all, like a good S-Italian... My fault Thank you everyone
