I plan to start running this game, but i already installed a button icon pack to correctly display controller buttons instead of the keyboard keys, and was wondering if this was allowed in any way. If not, I can always just fresh install, but I wanted to check first.

I don't believe that is necessary to uninstall that, this is just graphical and except if it influences the game, it has to be allowed.
