Go to video settings and change the settings so the game runs in a window instead of full screen. The game will run in a window without border (so it still covers your entire screen). The only difference is that livesplit can now go over top of portal (as long as you enable "always on top" in layout settings).
Hope my explanation makes sense :)
I am in windowed mode, but Source Unpack makes the window fit my screen anyway. I have a pretty good understanding of how windows work, trust me :P
The problem, though, is that while LiveSplit is open, the task bar gets pushed to the very top layer and portal gets pushed to the bottom so that it is covered by the task bar. This only happens when LiveSplit is open. The task bar goes back to the bottom layer as soon as LiveSplit closes.
I don't, unfortunately.
And if it helps, LiveSplit will also hold the task bar on top of CS:GO(another source game). So we know the problem is not SourceUnpack, it's just source games in general...
It's very annoying please help ;-;
Two things:
- I realized I said the wrong thing in my original post
- I have screenshots now to be more clear about what the problem is
I'm not sure how these forums work so if this comment doesn't bump my thread to the top I'll just repost this in a new one.
I have screenshots to better explain my issue: http://imgur.com/a/KhLXY
The issue is that when LiveSplit is open my task bar covers the bottom of Portal. I'm using all default Source Unpack settings. I haven't changed anything. Clicking on Portal doesn't push the task bar behind Portal like it normally would. The only way to get the task bar back behind Portal is to close it.
Starting now and currently being grandfathered, all console runs will be manually retimed with load times removed. This process will be redone by the verification team anyway, so don't worry about doing it yourself when submitting. Massive shoutouts to Tactix1 for doing this basically single handedl
