- Caching still appears to exist on console (no data on PC myself).
Comparison: Slow (Appears to be roughly the same speed as a PS4 SSD fast load):
Fast:
Clarifying simply in case; costumes have nothing to do with this. I had the fast load in my PB on PS5, too. Slow one was caused by launching the game and playing from Mot 2's safe room, fast was achieved after the whole palace was done.
-
Thieves Den progression saving no longer stops you doing activities whilst it is doing so. Such as sleeping or studying. On PS4, whilst the game is doing this it will flat out stop you interacting until it is finished.
-
Some shadows do appear to behave differently. One shadow I am sure, is different is the one directly after Mot 2 that spawns after grabbing the Orb. There are likely other shadows that are subtly different, but after several practice runs, I haven't observed anything of immediate note.
-
At 60fps and higher, Out of Bounds involving the collision of shadows and clipping by moving alongside them (such as Kaneshiro's Basement Skip, Shido's Palace Skip and Tape Skip), no longer appear to work.
-
Framerate seems to affect height gain during specific out of bounds. At 60fps and higher you will gain incrementally less height each rotation than you would on 30fps playing on PS4. Does not seem to affect height loss.
-
FFW is directly affected by framerate. 60fps is much faster than 30fps, and 120fps is also faster than 60. Same thing with text scrolling whilst holding triangle; the higher your framerate the faster it will scroll by.
-
Framerate seems to even directly affect load times, going by a test conducted by Neviutz.
-
Newer versions seem prone to occasional freezing during FFW: https://twitter.com/FurryWulfz/status/1584804066676424706/video/1
Others who have collaborated something similar happened to them: DarkKefka (PS5), Asapaska and Hoxi (Both PC).
- Newer releases appear to have adjusted how many movements left/right make in certain menus. Notably, the flower shop and compendium.
First noticed by Cereth, trying to utilize his notes for menus, this is how the flower shop menus appear to behave in comparison:
PS5 Remaster (Flower Shop Menu):
1 right = 4 inputs down. 2 right = Another 4 inputs down.
Both left and right appear to mimic the same as 4 down/up inputs each time.
PS4 (Flower Shop Menu): 1 right = 3 inputs down. 2 right = Cursor moved to the very bottom choice.
Both left and right appear appear to mimic 3 inputs down or up the first press, and the second press will result in you being forced to the very top, or bottom, of the menu.
I'm not sure if it's some weird setting I accidentally set/unset, but I noticed that in the color puzzle from Maruki's palace, the new version gives you the name of the old and new color when you change them. (more text boxes)
you can see the same in Okumuras palace with the additional Cross and different colors for the gates
Hey everyone,
With the date of the re-release getting closer I wanted to post some information about what's gonna happen with the new version and the leaderboard.
Following the release date, boards for the re-release will be locked for approximately 2-3 weeks to figure out a couple of things r
