As i watched agdq 2016 i wondered when was the last time they played NSMB in a gdq. lol it was 2013. So i was thinking should we attempt to get NSMB on sgdq 2016 yes or no
if you dont know what agdq or sgdq is it is a marathon where they speedrun for charity agdq = awesome games done quick sgdq = summer games done quick
I'd like to see NSMB more in GDQs, but I believe there aren't a lot of runners out there of this game that would/could run it. Also, even entering on the schedule would be kinda hard, this AGDQ NSMB2 (by Greenalink) got rejected in both Any% and Warpless. I myself may consider trying but I'way too far and young.
If a "decent" runner of NSMB is going to a GDQ anyway, submitting doesn't really cost anything.
Yeah, I also submitted NSMB2 in both those categories, but that is the only NSMB game yet to be featured at a GDQ. I think it's more about capture issues than the run itself, because 3DS capture is weird.
Mishu vs Koffing Any% ADGQ 2017 Kappa Getting a wii u would solve recording issues.
Koffing you would need people to talk about the strats we now use then we did in 2013 Also they have two wii us so we are in good hands I'd put my hand up to talk about but it would cost a bit of money to fly me down from Australia and also I will only be around about 14 15ish
When we look at the last time this game was done in a GDQ, nobody was really around for it, so the popularity won't be too high at least for the live event.
Granted that could have also been done at night, but really, it was kinda hard and cringy for people to watch.
As much as I support it, I don't think people would really enjoy it as much as Wii or Wii U.
But you could totally try and give it a shot, none-the-less.
@koffingrockz ye, I'd definitely want to see that happen ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ
If anyone is gonna submit anything, I'd consider submitting not any%. I mean, any% is the most popular, but imo it's the worst one ; _ ; All Levels would be an interesting category actually but I think it'd require around 2 hours and it's super risky. I guess low% wouldn't be that bad too, it's not really safe but fun.
EDIT: looking back to AGDQ 2013's run, ye, it wasn't really good, but I think getting proper cycles and tricks would actually make this more interesting, especially with a race.
Any% would be safe for a marathon thanks to mushroom houses. But getting to a GDQ would be hard for me. But one day the race will happen OpieOP
@lachy3923 mine was just a suggestion, I'd find all the categories entertaining, I just don't really like Any%. But yes, I think Warpless/NSE wouldn't be bad at all.
I'd like to see you guys racing warpless : O (AceBentura is pretty good too).
A warpless race would be awesome! There are so many clutch moments in the run. I feel like one of us would have to get sub 50 first, though- GDQs are very picky about their schedule.
I have learned all of cannonless I just need practice. And yeah if I do make it one year anyone who wants to be on the couch could be.
@koffingrockz i have been doing cannonless for a while but i cannot get sub 1 hour times my pb as of the first of january is 1:01:09.32
Good luck w/ warpless, going to practice it when I'll have a decent Any% NSE run w/ video proof.
@lachy3923 mmh the best tip I could give would be checking for faster strats and improving consistency. In this game, it's easy to lose a lot of time.
Hi everyone, please read below for information regarding some important changes to video proof and emulator timing.
As of September 12th 2022, runs for all categories will require video proof to be verified on the leaderboard. Previously video proof was only required for Any% runs, however we are
