Hi LEGO Battles enthusiasts,
After a lot of work, the leaderboards are now reworked. Throughout this post I will explain all the changes. If you want the reasons why, feel free to reach me here through DMs or through Discord.
First of all, no categories have been added. This means that we still have the same categories as before. So, same rules too. Except one new category. More on that below.
Second, the changes:
-
Full Story and Full Act runs are now under the new Full Game category, One Story. They are the same as before. But, now if you want to submit an Imperial Full Act 2 RB Emulator run you will need to set the Scope to Full Game, select One Story, Imperial, Act 2, RB and Emulator. If you have any doubts while submitting new runs, feel free to ask.
-
All Stories RB and All Stories NRB are under the All Stories Full Game category. Select Full Game, All Stories, RB or NRB and Console or Emulator.
-
100% stays the same Full Game category as before.
-
Individual Levels are now all listed in the Levels Leaderboard. You will notice that there is a format in the name of the levels. The first letter stands for the Story and the second letter stands for the Act in which the level is in. So, for example, "K1 - Dark Shadows", K stands for King (W for Wizard, P for Pirate, I for Imperial, E for Earth and A for Alien) and 1 stands for Act 1 (2 for Act 2 and 3 for Act 3). While submitting, the drop menu to select the level is massive. However, thanks to this format, searching for your level is way easier. Imagine you want to search for an Imperial level. While the drop menu is open, press the "i" key and it will warp you to the first level of Imperial (this works for any drop menu).
Finally, this was a HUGE task. There are 552 verified runs (550 before the beginning of the changes). I also wanted to make a Database with all the verified runs of this leaderboard, so that no run would be lost by any means. So, it was double the effort. But, it was extremely worth it. If there are any mistakes, given that there were SO MANY runs, please contact me to fix the mistakes.
But, 552 runs are not enough. So, get your games ready and go do some runs.
Thanks for your patience.
Hi LEGO Battles enthusiasts,
Throughout this month of August changes to the leaderboard will be made. This doesn't mean that you cannot submit runs.
As of right now you can visualize some changes if you go to the Leaderboards tab (https://www.speedrun.com/lbattles/leaderboards).
As you can see, Full Runs (Full Story and Full Act) will appear in the Full-Game Leaderboards and the Levels Leaderboards will only have Levels.
Sadly, the Levels leaderboard will be a list of all the levels in the game but they will have a format in the name so it can be searched quickly (for example "[K1] Dark Shadows", K for King Story and 1 for Act 1, still TBD).
This change in the leaderboard is going to take a while, as I am making a spreadsheet with all the verified runs in this game (550 runs) to make sure that no run is left behind while making the changes (and to also have a database of the leaderboard)
I hope that you like the new changes. Also, if you have any suggestion feel free to leave a comment in this post or reach to me in the Discord or here through DMs.
Thanks for reading.
Hi LEGO Battles enthusiasts:
As time goes by, we learn more about the game. It was brought to our attention that emulator runs were much faster than console runs. We did the test and confirmed that the speed of the units is faster on emulator than on console.
Because of this, we ran a poll to decide wether or not there should be a split between console and emulator. The answer was "Yes" and we did the split. From now on, during your submissions you have to choose the Emulator value in the Console/Emulator variable (Console is the default value).
Before anyone asks. Yes, the submission page says that Emulators are banned, but that's just a meesage that appears because the former Emulator check-box doesn't make any sense with the split.
Regarding the emulator that should be used for this new category. A poll was run and we decided that DeSmuME 0.9.9 will be the only allowed emulator. The reason is that it emulates best the units' speed.
The Emulator Savefile has been updated (if you already have it, read the new README file).
And that's it.
P.S.: Prepare yourselves for this Summer. Cool things are coming.
Happy running!!
Hi LEGO Battles enthusiasts,
The LEGO Battles NRB Beginner Guide is finally finished. Check it out here:

Hi people,
The Emulator Savefile has been updated for melonDS.
Happy running.
Fellow LEGO Battles runners and followers,
From now on the emulator of choice will be melonDS 0.9.4. The reason behind it is that it runs the game very smoothly and accurately. Previous versions of melonDS were a bit inaccurate (in terms of audio, in gameplay they were fine - I made mistakes trying to check emulators -). And quite frankly, it is to date the easiest version to set up. So no more excuses to start running the game (in the following days we will update Resources to match the new Emulator rules. Runs before today run on emulator will not be affected for the new rules).
Regarding the Guide, I'm close to finishing it. Here it is the update: -You can learn the following runs: King Act 1 and Act 3, Wizard Act 2 and Act 3, Pirate Act 1, Imperial Act 1 and Act 2, Earth Full Story and Alien Full Story. -There are more levels besides the ones in those runs that you can learn. -There are 18 levels left to finish the whole NRB Guide. You can find the Guide here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qPSFAz7k4fjGPt4HNqm18e1sD7WZd8HYtj3uYZtBd7w/edit?usp=sharing
That's it for today's news.
Bye and Happy Building.
Little update on the LEGO Battles Beginner Guide: -You can learn the following runs: King Act 1 and Act 3, Pirate Act 1, Imperial Act 1, Earth Full Story and Alien Act 1. -There are more levels besides the ones in those runs that you can learn. -There are 37 levels left to finish the whole NRB Guide. Hi! The Beginner Earth NRB Story is fully routed. Here it is the link to the Guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qPSFAz7k4fjGPt4HNqm18e1sD7WZd8HYtj3uYZtBd7w/edit?usp=sharing New Levels will be added in the coming days.
HI! Yes, it is true. A Beginner Guide is in the making. You can access it now as it is being developed. https://www.speedrun.com/lbattles/guide/wl2by
The object of the guide is to provide a safe route that guarantees that a run can be completed. Therefore, it is a starting point from which you can build up. It will also contain Basic Mechanics and Glitch explanations.
This guide will contain routes for No Red Bricks and Red Bricks runs. There will be a written description of the level along with an example run. I am going to focus on making NRB routes because of something special coming soon.
There are already some levels done. I will make announcements when a story is fully covered.
That's it. Have fun and keep an eye on this guide.
Hi. As you may know, the new changes in SRCom bring up a new decission to be made. As of right now, the default setting will be that runs can only be commentated by runners with a verified run in LEGO Battles. Tomorrow, I will start a poll so that you, the LEGO Battles community, decide how you want it to be.
This poll will be up for 1 week (from October 25th 6:00 PM CEST to November 1st 5:00 PM CET - this is due to time zone changes in Europe). Only runners with a verified run throughout this period is allowed to vote.
