WinAUE will run the game generally slower out the box with just A500 default settings, with up to 1-2 minutes just to boot the game, and animations run a lot slower.

You can avoid this by setting the CPU to "Fastest Possible". This runs the game optimally as if on an Amiga 4000, and much smoother in comparison to how DOSBOX runs.

The DOSBOX via Steam version of the game has a much smaller pixel density mixed with 1500x default cycles, causing the framerate to blast through animations, as well as making the mouse relatively hard to move accurately.
