It does matter, example: one player lures bandits away so the first player can have a straighter route and therefore a faster time.

i understand what you mean but it really doesnt make it interesting at all, youll just see the same thing over and over again used in each run. what other games though do you know that allow just one player to do the task while the others dont need to do anything

That's not an issue. the 10km categories are repetitive but the most popular

This game is RNG based, doesn’t have a lot of time saves, and lacks tasks to separate when playing multiplayer, that’s just how the game is. I’m not a dev and can’t change it. The goal when speedrunning is to beat the objective in the fastest time possible, not to complain about the game design. Dead Rails wasn’t made with speedrunning in mind. There are many other games you can speedrun if that's what you prefer.

Yes, you could employ the solo strategy and let the others sit back. But that doesn't change when you employ your solution. It instead just forces everyone to use the solo strat. If I want to see the solo strat, I'll watch a solo speedrun.

Letting the others sit back and do nothing is a severe underutilization of the resources you're given. The second player can make a VERY big difference. How big? Stick around, I'll post a demonstration of just how much of a difference that a second player can make in the very near future.

im not saying to just get rid of or change the other categories for more than one person, im saying that with the more than one person categories its just the same thing as the solo runs with more people. its not truly a multiple person run if only one person has to complete it. there would be more strategies made out and more interesting runs if everyone had to get to the finish. speedrunning is about getting creative and by making it only one person to the finish kinda locks the creativity people will try. not a lot of games are made to speedrun but speedrunners make them speedrun games by finding things that casual players wouldnt normally try out themselves. all im saying is i think for the community to really grow and people wanting to hunt runs more is by making it so everybody has to finish the run. That is all my opinion though but i just wanted you guys to try to hear me out about it

Will you add Museum% category for collecting every item in the game on your train without selling them (you can only sell duplicates of same item)? I got this idea from lethal company category extensions, there was same category and I thought it'd be fun to add it here.

I'll think about it

Spain

Bro I think I started a fight here 💀, my point was that we both were gonna go cowboy one kills the other's horse so he can grab it ride the other horse and start flying with it to evade hostile mobs. But since it isn't valid Ig I'll just keep dreaming 😔

It’s not a fight it’s just us conversing

Will the 40km categories be deleted, because it seems kind of useless imo.

Canada

I see no reason to delete it. Once we have a Discord setup we'll be able to make polls for this kind of thing.

Brazil

Do you already have any ideas, or do you intend to work with the 100% category?, or is it something too crazy? haha

Canada

100% category will probably get added in the near future

@SunaD3V i have 2 questions about multiplayer runs. also im really late to this forum but whatever.

  1. im not really familiar w multiplayer runs but could i do a duo run with one person, submit it, do another with someone else and they both be accepted and shown on the same leaderboards?

  2. this is such a stupid question idk why im asking this but can the same person play with 2 accounts on 2 different devices both recording separately and get accepted as a duo run. the answers probably no and idk why it would be useful but im just curious

@RadioSPD

Question 1: Yes

Question 2: Yes, so long as both POVs are visible I don't see why not.
