Hello ducks!

On past weeks some runs were rejected as they were not following some rulings we had since some years ago, that at the moment those rules were added we believed that were gonna be useful to avoid cheating and help for a fair competition between runners.

Along active mods we began discussing about those rulings and we considered that some of them are pointless or deprecated for nowdays speedrunning standards, so new changes are gonna be implemented to game rules.

From now (October 7th 2024) for runs performed on emulators showing game inputs is no longer required. The only requirement for those submissions will be to mention the emulator that was used on run description.

We'll be doing tests to remove the mandatory memory card setup, as looks like new/recent/modern emulators don't speed up the loading times when there's no memory card set up. ePSXe was the most common emulator and the one who suffered mainly from this issue, so for now encourage to don't use any ePSXe version to run the game for now, as there's a high chance that the emulator will not be allowed anymore to speedrun the PS1 version.

During next weeks we'll testing modern emulators (for all versions) and making some research in order to update the list of allowed emulators, since some of them are old or the required setup for them are considered obsolete in general. If somebody wanna help us with testing/research we're gonna appreciate that.

We also recommend to anybody interested into running the game to join to Quackers Speednerds Discord server where we can help you with any question related to the game (and don't hesitate to DM me for this if required).

With all of these said thanks for your attention. We're happy to see new runners and wanna work together into having a great DDGQ community.
