This is a Work in Progress mapping out of the fastest route to progress the game as of release. I will continuously update this guide over the coming weeks, until there's a consensus on the best route, at which point I will re-fashion it into a proper outline. Take everything in this guide as not-final and subject to massive change at any notice.
Before the Game
Go into settings/Accessibility: disable "type writer effect." What the type writer does is simulate words being typed out, which means that you can skip speech bubbles far slower than without this setting. From my runs, this adds about 7-10 minutes over the course of an entire run.
Ending
We are shooting for "Robyn's Ending" - which has Michelle simply break the curse without any other hijinks involved. The way to get this is rather simple: do not talk to Samuel ever, and do not complete the Operator's questline. Lending itself very easily to speedrunning. Added bonus, this is the ending with the shortest possible epilogue.
Prologue
- Take the dialogue options reminding Darrel of the price in the store
- Immediately go to bed, don't interact with anyone
- In the chase scene immediately let yourself get killed by Dream Eater
Day 1
- Run to the music store, engage the clerk
- Run into the metro
- Run through all thorn bushes, pick up one water bottle inside the metro station and then the second one in the first enemy room in the cable car
- Pick up the Warrior of Change in the cable car (21 YZS) - mandatory to progress
- During the boss fight, just stand in the middle at the edge of the train car with third eye enabled, and once the boss sticks her head out, unload the clip onto her. Rinse and repeat three times.
- Head through the front door
- Refuse the Operator's deal
Day 2
- Refuse the Operator's Deal again
- Talk to Robyn in the Church courtyard and head to the Aquarium
- Don't fight any enemies, run straight past them.
- Get the Shotgun
- Combination first Water puzzle: Left Control panel 3x times, Top (middle) control panel 3x times, Right control panel 3x times
- In the room after the second memory fragment (accessed via the keycard) once you reach first dinosaur demon, you are able to skip the ceiling roach, by enabling third eye and then hugging the lower wall.
- Combination second water puzzle (the one immediately after you go down the ladder next to the main tank): Right 1x time, Middle (bottom) 3x times, Left 2x this one was a real pain in the bum to figure out
- Combination third water puzzle: Left 2x times, Right 3x times, Middle 3x time
- Final water puzzle: Only button 2x times (including it here cuz not activating third eye saves time)
- Boss fight: constantly run back and forth, if the boss does the "sweeping" attack and you are unable to stand in front of her mouth immediatel, run until just after the first ammo pack (don't pick them up for reference here), activate third eye and blast her with the shotgun.
- Ignore everyone and just head into the dining room
- Immediately ask the Duchess about the other victims, head back to your room
Day 3
- Ignore everyone, immediately talk to Benedict in the Church.
- Use the shotgun to deal with the knights.
- In the second section with the dog, first take out all the enemies in the first room, then just run the dog through the pressure plate section at full speed. The knights won't be able to catch up with you.
- After you reach the section with the symbolled doors, head to the "X" door, don't tank the spikes as they deal a lot of damage.
- Head through the Diamond door, ignore Robyn's memory fragment, head up the stairs to the two slash door.
- Answer for the Knight's riddle is "great train conductor" and "Five passengers."
- Use your gun to deal with the cockroach father, and later the mother.
- Use the shot gun for the narrow tunnel sections, save ammo for them. You are able to run past the flying demons if you nodge yourself correctly into them.
- During the final enemy wave fight, don't activate the third eye, so the knights don't move. Focus on keeping enemies away from robyn, if needed body block, since you will get healed to full anyway at the end of the chapter. Execute unkillable demons with heartbreaker, or lure them away.
- Don't give Robyn the key, this skips a cutscene.
Dream Eater's Palace
- During the first chance sequence, head right at the knight statue crossroad, then up at the next one.
- Use the axe to break objects during the second Dream Eater fight, as ammunition is quite limited.
- During the final, boss fight, make sure you always dodge Samuel's corpse falling down as if it hits you, it won't spawn on the ground and you need to redo an entire cycle.
The Hotel
- Use the Shotgun in the Duchess' Avatar(?) fights
- During the first body double puzzle, walk right-straight-left
- For the second follow the walk trail on your side, then turn off the third eye so you can walk straight for a while
- In the room where your evil doubles chase you, just run through the maze, they aren't able to catch up with you.
- After freeing your double in the next room, disable your third eye, walk out to the left and all the way down. Reactivate your third eye, walk straight till the final container before the "entrance" to the pile, then walk left. Reposition your double then so it hits the button.
- In the next room, activate your third eye, walk down, then walk your double towards

Time without loads will become the default timing method, using the load remover will be required if you do not want load times counted in your final time.
