Out of the top 12 runs, the top 10 leaderboard spots, there are only three correctly timed runs.
It's astonishing, really. Many of these are blatantly incorrect (.230 in 30 fps?!?!), many seem correct but when you actually time them they are way off (2 out of the 3 tied #10 runs are incorrect), and, in the case of the second place run of this game, nobody even bothered to actually time it.
The only semblance of a consistent timing method I found was used was to start time when the white bell pepper transition first completely covered the screen. That's what is listed in the rules of the game. That's how I retimed those top 12 runs. That would mean that the world record is incorrect, as well as every other top 5 run. Every single run but the world record would change leaderboard positions.
Fix your leaderboard. Why even have one when it's this inaccurate?
We haven't really had a consistent timing up until recently with my announcement a while back. Garsh and myself have not had inputs from previous mods, and as stated before the timing was a bit too ambiguous. Thanks for pointing this out. I'll chat with Garsh and get this sorted in the near future.
I don’t mean to be rude, I understand that the previous mods did most of it. It just frustrates me when I see a leaderboard like this where no care was given to accurately timing runs and making it a great leaderboard for a great game. It’s your responsibility to take care of this leaderboard, just like it’s my responsibility to take care of my leaderboards. I apologize if you perceived my message as being rude.
Look, it's getting sorted. Give us a couple weeks to make sure its fully sorted. We appreciate you pointing it out, even if the method was a bit passive aggressive. We'll get it done and I'll make sure people know the full set of changes via the news tab.
Now, Imma go close the thread and get on with it
Due to recent findings, it has been pointed out that runs are now said to have been mistimed due to the changes made to timing runs. As such, ALL runs will be subject to retimes. Some times may be unchanged but some runs may be timed differently (for a shorter or longer time).
Furthermore, it has
