I made a tool-assisted speedrun of this game! It's currently 9 seconds faster than the RTA WR
So, I was casually replaying this game on my ps3, and I found a movement trick that allows you to go slightly faster in free play.
When you roll and you switch characters, you move normally, but with no animation. And if you switch back to the character that rolled fast enough, the roll will reset, and rolling is the fastest way to move on the ground. I never saw this in the speedruns I watched but it might be useful in very large areas like the elephants area in the dead marshes level.
Think, there are alphabetical dragons for spyro 1, alphabetical orbs for spyro 2, but nothing for spyro 3, so I sugest alphabetical eggs, it could be either the names of the eggs themselves or the names of the missions they're attached to, all levels cheat would obviously be allowed
Simple, the objective is to break and collect every single 1-Up crate in the game. Timing would end when the last 1-Up is collected and 1-Ups from enemies don't count. You can use cheats if you want.
This already sorta exists for the flight levels, but it would be cool for it to apply to every level, timing would start when movement is first possible and end when every collectable is collected.
Very simple, every category has a "Glitchless" variant where glitches are banned (OOB, Swim in air, double jumps, and others), I think this would be interesting, specially because there are only 4 types of runs, which is kind of little
I know the title might seem confusing, but it's simple, you just have to see the ending cutscene). But! There's a major twist, everything goes, and when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Inputing cheat codes, speeding up the game. The only rule is that, it must be inside the GBA, so you can't just go on Youtube, see a WarioWare Inc. playthrough, and then just skipping to the end, but even there' you could import a media file to the GBA using something like the Play Yan, I really mean EVERYTHING IS ALLOWED.
So, I've got this very stupid idea for a run, the objective is not to get 69% completion, but the objective is to draw or represent a 69 as quickly as possible. There are some ways you could do this: You could input 69 on the calculator microgame, you can just draw a 69 on most of Kat and Ana's microgames, you could draw a 69 by punching holes on Wario's boss game, and many others. Moderating runs would not only take into consideration if its legitimate, but if the 69 that was drawn actually looks like a 69. Yeah, it's stupid, but I love it
The following video contains a glitch (i think) i encoutered when playing the game
video: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/111ZLDhlRh6mDC9-utIuj670n9qux4vTZ
This glitch isn't exclusive to penny, since I was able to do it with kat, I think this glitch has something to do with killing the nose flies really quickly or killing them at the same time, which means that it can be reproduced by other characters like 18-volt and ashley, but all I know is that it saves time, but it will add a lot of RNG to the run, which kinda sucks
An idea for a category, all passing scores: the objective is simple, just get all passing scores (the flowers) in the play-o-pedia, the game could start in either a fresh file or a file where all microgames are unlocked, at it would end when you claim the reward (or as the game calls it, cashing) for the "super play-o-pedia enthusiast" mission in the "score" seccions in the mission menu. yeah, it would have some rng involded in the characters, like in "sand trap scoop" and pratically all boss games, but it feels weird not having a 100% category in this game.
