You miss timed you ending by 6 seconds. Time stops when red starts to interact with the object, not once its finished. Great run though! :D
yep, figured it was useful to see routing from area to area rather than just from the hub. I was pleasantly surprised when i saw that it really is just one big 2d map (loading zones aside)
The load remover we have right now only works on the down patched version of the game. Something about the binaries it reads got changed in that final localization patch and no-one who worked on the original is still around. It might be worth 'acquiring' a steam copy to work around it because loads are usually around 1:30 of time and unfortunately are next to impossible to remove manually. I dont think there is even a clear visual loading indicator to manual with.
Your run EXCEEDED 60 fps which makes the game run FASTER. In order to promote fairness and make it sure people with stronger rigs don't get free world records, fps has to be capped at 60.
That usually happens when you get the corrupted transistor state from taking the second elevator on the elevator maps and then not killing the spine of the world. It is the reason we do the disjoint at that elevator back to the savepoint to glitch it out and by pass it.
Awesome, I have a friend I am trying to get into the game and he will love this change
So I was looking into getting into soulstice as a speedrun but the length of the run seems kind of daunting. Would the community be open to making IL leaderboards so that runs could be done in bite sized chunks? Using the end of chapter score card would make timing easy as well.
So I was looking into running this game because I like the core Magicka series but all the runs seem to be about pulling off the water mines combo. I was wondering if there is a category that bans that specific tech so the level have to be played mostly vanilla (barring teleport oob shenanigans). If not a watermineless category might be a fun addition but feel free to shoot me down.
thank you :D fishing for first aid and getting enough health to make it to area three was a pain. only had 5-6 viable runs in an hour and a half of resetting
Nice! Prolly would have been much better if you had the load remover working.
I really need to work on an updated low% guide, don't I?
Synamaur is working on a video tutorial atm. I should be able to bug him into just releasing it as is right now.
Upon frame by frame analysis, using the timing of the replace sword text turning grey, I found that both of the top runs were slightly off. The run by Kass was timed as a 36:36.89 when it was actually a 36:36.51. The run by Synamaur was timed as a 36:36.33 when it was actually a 36:36.36. This makes the new WR Synamaurs' by .15 seconds. I will be taking feed back if anyone can show me errors in my timing methodology but for now, I would like to congratulate both runners on amazing runs and on practically tying each other.
The older video will get you the basics of the route. The top runners atm are using a spine skip from low percent and there is a new animation cancelling skip I found to get past two more fights, but you can add those in later. At some point I'll make an updated video
In theory console should be able to match in terms of execution though it would be at disadvantage as we use a load remover for PC times and loads on PC are about 2ish minutes over the course of a run. The guides that are floating around can explain most of the tricks but there isn't anything with everything in one place. Which category were you thinking of running?
Console has the disadvantage of not having mouse precision for performing skips. That being said, runners are allowed to run it on any platform and I will get switch added as an option for run submissions. If you need any help getting into the game hit me up via dms!
:D Now to find all the applications of it! Also only 7 fights left in low%
I think the game runs slower at 30 but the only requirement is nothing over 60 since we know that gives a definite advantage. If you want to run lower for stability feel free!
As a heads up it appears you stopped timing at defeating Royce. Timing is stopped on interacting with the body in the area after the final battle. After re-timing it increased the run length by 1:31
