I'm happy for an object throw to be allowed before timer starts (I.e. so only character movement triggers start) but tbh im not actively running it rn so open to whatever concensus is amongst the active runners.
I like your thinking! Tbh it's been a long time since I did runs so can't recall any potential applications myself but I'm sure there will be a ton of awesome big strats generally waiting to be unlocked by someone. Sounds like it could well be you!
Sorry, only just spotted your reply! It won't let me add you as mod unless you activate email authentication. If you end up activating it, dm me and I'll add you :-)
Sorry jackal, I'm usually pretty good at correcting that (I'd say at least one in every two submissions gets that wrong). If you let me know which ones you've spotted that are incorrect then I can change them. On that subject, I'm not active in kraken at all. If you plan on remaining active and would like mod, let me know.
Hi, can I be made a mod of JackQuest https://www.speedrun.com/jackquest ? I submitted a run on 5 May 2020. Moderator hasn't logged into the site since 1 May there are currently no runs on the board. His YT link is not recognised and I tried messaging him on this site (plus request on discord) but no reply.
Ah, I didn't verify that one originally so I just presumed it was All Bears. I will DM him to see if he can re-upload the video.
Thanks for posting! The first two were known of but I have never seen the third, quite interesting.
Although there aren't many active runners, there is a discord that is a little active (hopefully it is linked on the sidebar on this leaderboard). It's always good to see another swordigo fan! I would recommend you give the Up to First Shard category a try to begin with if you are interested in doing runs.
This looks great! On reflection, I don't think corpseflesh or twyn are very active anymore unfortunately. If the softlock problem can be worked out it is free WR!
The best place to ask is probably the mobile speedrunning discord at https://discord.gg/ChbAzUA
If you don't want to join there, I can recommend a few if you let me know:
- whether you or on Android or iOS
- the preferred length of run
- the genres you are open to
- whether you will only consider free games or are willing to pay for games / IAP
Sounds good to me. Tbh, I only ran / became temp mod for this game for MSD comp a long while ago and probably don't have enough experience with it to sensibly carry on modding it, so it would make much more sense for you to do it!
Join us at twitch.tv/mobilespeedrun between 3.25pm and 10.30pm UTC Tuesday 14 April 2020 for a marathon stream of some of the best speedruns on mobile and web, in association with the mobile speedrunning discord.
The full schedule is at https://oengus.io/marathon/WHaMathon2/schedule and anyone is welcome to join the event server at https://discord.gg/KGZ92Ma if they had queries. Hope to see you there!
I don't know about alive. I haven't played the game since my newer phone stopped being able to open the app properly.
Ask in the game's forum to be sure.
There are some credible speedgames on coolmathgames, if I were you I would submit the request but in 'Any additional notes' do you best to sell the game. For example, describe interesting mechanics, any neat speedrunning-friendly features (like IGT), if you know of any other people running / interested in running it, mention that etc. I think site mods have said before that, whilst there are guidelines for what will be accepted, each request is judged on its own merit, so it is worth a try.
Also, if the example run you submit is less than 5 minutes, but only because the whole game can be beaten that quickly, make it clear that your run is not only a portion of the game, but the whole game.
Cheers! I'm not too active on reddit but I'll join anything swordigo related!
My two cents - don't force it. If you don't feel motivated to pick up the grind again then don't. Wait for you to naturally get the interest back. Personally, every now and again I lose the will to run and just do something else. I've always eventually picked it back up again after a while.
